Nikka Costa is the debut studio album by Nikka Costa. It was released in 1981 by CGD Records in Italy in conjunction with CBS Records when Costa was nine years old, fifteen years before her first album for older audiences was released, and twenty years before her breakthrough album Everybody Got Their Something .
Costa's cover of "(Out Here) On My Own", originally from the musical film Fame , was released as a single from the album. The single topped the charts in Italy and Europe. [1] [2] The single's success prompted suspicions that Costa would be a one-hit wonder, and that her success would be short-lived, but neither of these predictions came true. Instead, by September 1982, the album had sold over 200,000 copies in Italy alone, and about 1.5 million copies worldwide. [3]

The recording was produced by Michael Gore. Cara performed the song at the 1981 Academy Awards, where it was nominated for Best Original Song. The song was released on the Fame soundtrack, which also contains an instrumental version of the track.
Nau is the only studio album by Nau, a Brazilian post-punk band formed in 1985 by writer Vange Leonel (vocals), former Zero member Alberto "Beto" Birger (bass), Zique (guitar), and Mauro Sanches. The album was released in 1986 through CBS Records International. Although it didn't achieve significant commercial success, "Nau" received critical acclaim and garnered attention from renowned singer Cazuza, who became a fan of the band.

Eighth Wonder were an English pop band, formed in 1983 in London, initially composed of singer/model/actress Patsy Kensit, her brother Jamie Kensit, Steve Grantley, Geoff Beauchamp, Nigel Davis, Jake Walters and Lawrence Lewis. The band first enjoyed major success in Japan and Italy in 1985–87, before finally breaking through in the UK and across Europe in 1988, thanks to their hit single "I'm Not Scared".
