Niu Chunge (born 14 February 2000) is a Chinese pole vaulter. She has won Chinese national titles indoors and outdoors. [1]

Career

She won the World U18 Championships in Nairobi in 2017 with a personal best clearance of 4.20 metres. [2] She competed at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere, placing sixth overall with a clearance of 4.25 metres. [3] [4]

She won the Chinese indoor title in Tianjin in February 2023. [5] She won the Chinese outdoor national title in Shenyang in June 2023. [6] She won silver at the 2023 Asian Championships in Bangkok with a clearance of 4.51 metres. [7] She competed at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, clearing 4.50 metres but not making the final. [8] [9] She won bronze at the delayed 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou in October 2023. [10]

She won silver at the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran in February 2024 with a clearance of 4.41 metres. [11] She was selected for the 2024 Paris Olympics. [12]

Holly Bethan Bradshaw is an English track and field athlete who specialises in the pole vault. She used to be the British record holder in the event indoors and outdoors, with clearances of 4.87 metres and 4.90 metres. Bradshaw won a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She also won bronze at the 2012 World Indoor Championships, gold at the 2013 European Indoor Championships, bronze at the 2018 European Championships, and silver at the 2019 European Indoor Championships. She also won at the 2018 Athletics World Cup. Coached by Scott Simpson, she has been consistently ranked among the world's best and has been ranked in the world top ten on the Track and Field News merit rankings four times.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2017 Asian Youth Athletics Championships</span> International athletics championship event

The 2017 Asian Youth Athletics Championships was the second edition of the biennial, continental athletics competition for Asian athletes aged fifteen to seventeen. It was held at the National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand from 20–23 May. Organised by the Athletics Association of Thailand, a total of forty events were contested with the events divided evenly between the sexes. The event programme mirrored that of the previous IAAF World Youth Championships in Athletics, with the exception of a boy's decathlon, rather than the octathlon.

In 2020, the foremost competitions in the sport of athletics were the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, the 2020 World Athletics Indoor Championships held in Nanjing, China and the 2020 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships held in Gdynia, Poland. All three were rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemicm with the 2020 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships being the only event still held in 2020.
