Nix is an unincorporated community in Franklin County, Alabama, United States. [1]
Buford Hayse Pusser was the sheriff of McNairy County, Tennessee, from 1964 to 1970, and constable of Adamsville from 1970 to 1972. Pusser is known for his virtual one-man war on moonshining, prostitution, gambling, and other vices along the Mississippi–Tennessee state line. His efforts have inspired several books, songs, movies and a TV series. He was also a wrestler known as "Buford the Bull" in the Mid-South.

The 1979 Alabama Crimson Tide football team represented the University of Alabama in the 1979 NCAA Division I-A football season. It was the Crimson Tide's 85th overall and 46th season as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The team was led by head coach Bear Bryant, in his 22nd year, and played their home games at Bryant–Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa and Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama. They finished the season undefeated and with a victory over Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl. For their collective efforts, the Crimson Tide were recognized as consensus national champions for the 1979 season.

Nix is the former defensive coordinator for the Middle Tennessee football team, the former associate head coach and defensive coordinator for Ole Miss Rebels football, and the former defensive coordinator for the South Carolina Gamecocks and Southern Miss Golden Eagles. He is the brother of Derrick Nix, a former Southern Miss star and the current wide receivers coach at Ole Miss.

Part of the 1980–81 bowl game season, it matched the ninth-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the #6 Baylor Bears of the Southwest Conference (SWC). Favored Alabama shut out the Baylor offense and won, 30–2.

Campfire Café is an American cooking show aired on RFD-TV. It has aired on the now defunct European TV channel, Rural TV. It, the original series, first aired on August 8, 2002 and was hosted by Albertville, Alabama native Johnny Nix at the time. The Nix version of the series ended sometime in early winter 2006. The revival, which aired in June 2006, not long after the original series ended, is hosted by Pamela Alford and Larry Wiseheart. The series is currently on hiatus.

The 1991 Chattanooga Moccasins football team represented the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga as a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon) in the 1991 NCAA Division I-AA football season. The Moccasins were led by eighth-year head coach Buddy Nix and played their home games at Chamberlain Field. Southern Conference. They finished the season 7–4 overall and 4–3 in SoCon play to tie for fourth place.
