Frankfort is an unincorporated community in Franklin County, Alabama, United States.
The name Frankfort comes from a combination of Franklin (the county) and fort. [2] In 1849, Franklin County consisted of all of current Franklin County and Colbert County. A vote was held to move the county seat to a more central location from Russellville, and Frankfort was founded in that location. The courthouse and jail were built from local-made brick. In 1879, the county seat was moved to Belgreen. [3] A post office operated under the name Frankfort from 1852 to 1909. [4]

He represented Madison County in the Kentucky House of Representatives for a single term.
John McKinley was a U.S. Senator from the state of Alabama and an associate justice of the United States Supreme Court.
Thomas Todd was an American attorney and Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Raised in the Colony of Virginia, he studied law and later participated in the founding of Kentucky, where he served as a clerk, judge, and justice. He was married twice and had a total of eight children. Todd joined the U.S. Supreme Court in 1807 and his handful of legal opinions there mostly concerned land claims.
