No Democracy is the fifteenth studio album by Japanese pop rock band Glay, released on 2 October 2019. [2] [3]

Contents

The album's details were announced on 17 August 2019 [3] and it references the new Reiwa era of Japan established with the ascension of Naruhito to the Chrysanthemum Throne, replacing his father Akihito and ending the Heisei era. [2] According to guitarist and leader Takuro, the title alludes to the fact that democracy is yet to be established around the world due to issues such as war and religious conflicts. [3]

The album's bonus material includes live footage of their Glay Live Tour 2019 -Survival- tour which revisited their sixth album Heavy Gauge . [2]

It reached #2 at both the Billboard Japan Hot Albums chart [4] and the Oricon weekly charts, staying on the latter for 17 weeks. [5] In the end of the year, it reached #79 at the Billboard Japan Year End Top Albums Sales [6] and #87 at Oricon's. [7]

The song "Kōri no Tsubasa" was used in the Japanese dub of the 2019 film Wings Over Everest . [8] [5] "Hajimeri no Uta" was featured as the opening theme of the anime Ace of Diamond Act II . [9] [5] "Colors" became the theme song of the film adaptation of the Final Fantasy XIV: Dad of Light series. [10]

Kana-Boon are a Japanese rock band formed in 2008. They made their major debut with Ki/oon Music in 2013. Ace of Spades is a Japanese rock band managed by LDH since 2012 and signed to the record label Rhythm Zone. The band started being formed in 2005 while Exile and Glay released the collaboration single "Scream". The project was formed between Hiro and Glay members Hisashi and Takuro.

Official Hige Dandism, commonly abbreviated Higedan (ヒゲダン), is a Japanese pop band formed in Shimane, Japan in 2012 by Satoshi Fujihara, Daisuke Ozasa, Makoto Narazaki and Masaki Matsuura . 'Hige' translates to facial hair but mostly moustache, and Dandism refers to Manly of man, commonly used in advertising to suggest manliness. So in English it roughly translates to 'Manly Moustache', or 'Macho Moustache'.
