North Benfleet is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Bowers Gifford and North Benfleet, in the Basildon district of Essex, England, located between the towns of Basildon to the west and South Benfleet to the east. It adjoins the small village of Bowers Gifford. In 1931 the parish had a population of 560. [1] On 1 January 1937 the parish was abolished to form Billericay. [2]

Prior to 1066, North Benfleet was owned by King Harold, and transferred to William the Conqueror afterwards. [3]

The Church of All Saints is a mixture of 13th, 14th and 15th century construction, which was rebuilt during the 17th century. [4] Although it had fallen into disrepair after many years of disuse, it was returned to regular use in March 2013 by the Orthodox Church, [5] and now has weekly services.

The parish of "Bowers Gifford and North Benfleet" was formed on 1 April 2010. [6]
