Northwest Academy of Law is a Magnet High School in St. Louis, Missouri in the Walnut Park East neighborhood. It is a part of St. Louis Public Schools.

About

The student body is made up of 194 students with around 95% being African-American. The average ACT score is 13.4 and the graduation rate is 70%. [1] The mission of Northwest Academy of Law is to provide rigorous and relevant educational background particularly in Law to prepare students for success in college and in the workplace. [2] Northwest holds mock court sessions where students defend themselves when they are accused of breaking rules. [3] In 2017, Northwest won its first state championship in basketball [4]

Briarwood Christian School is a private school in Birmingham, Alabama. It was founded by Briarwood Presbyterian Church in 1965. In 1970, when integration of the public schools was mandated by the federal government, the IRS began revoking the tax exempt status of segregation academies. During this time the school added a non-discrimination policy, although no black students were admitted.

Soldan International Studies High School is a public magnet high school in the Academy neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri that is part of the St. Louis Public Schools. Soldan was known for its wealthy and predominantly Jewish student population, from its opening in 1909. The student population underwent a rapid change in demographics, starting in the 1950s. It was predominantly African American by the mid-1960s. The school was renovated and reopened as a magnet school, with a focus on international relations, in the early 1990s.
