Pattonville High School is a public high school located in Maryland Heights, Missouri. It is the only high school in the Pattonville School District.

Contents

History

In 1937 Pattonville High School's first graduating class, of 2 girls, graduated. In 1938, the graduating class had grown to 4 boys and 1 girl. The original high school was located on the current site of Holman Middle School, behind Pattonville's Learning Center at 11055 St Charles Rock Road, but has since moved to behind the Champ Landfill. [8]

Achievement

As of 2018, the average ACT score is 21.8 and 89% of students graduate. [5] 68% of graduating students go on to college after graduating, with 43% of graduates going to a 4-year University and 25% going to a 2-year Community College. [9]

Curriculum

All students are required to complete 50 hours of community service in order to receive a diploma.[ citation needed ] Students at PHS have the opportunity to participate in the Missouri A+ schools program, allowing 2 years of free tuition at any community college in the state of Missouri if grades and attendance requirements are met. PHS offers a variety of Honors and AP Classes that give college credit.

Activities

Students at Pattonville High School have the opportunity to participate in activities: [11] Pattonville fields a competitive marching band, [12] and has had success at the national level in jazz band, jazz ensemble, cheerleading, and robotics. [13] [14]

Staley High School is a public high school in Kansas City, Missouri. It is one of the four high schools in the North Kansas City School District along with North Kansas City High School, Oak Park High School, and Winnetonka High School. The school was named after the nearby Staley Farms and the road of the same name. The school opened in the 2008–09 school year with an enrollment of nearly 1,000 students from Oak Park High School. It is the first Green school in Missouri; however, other schools are in the process of being built and/or planned. The school's mascot is the Falcons, and the school's colors are green, black, and silver. Staley's original principal, Clark Mershon, retired in June 2017, and was replaced by the current principal Dr. Larry Smith.

Beaumont High School was a public high school in St. Louis, Missouri, United States. It has been converted to a technical school, hosting a number of CTE programs today. It is part of the St. Louis Public Schools. It was closed as a high school after the final graduating class on May 14, 2014, but continues its career training mission. After Beaumont was founded in 1926, it became noted for producing several Major League Baseball players in the 1940s and 1950s. During the Civil Rights Movement, the high school's integration was featured in a documentary film that was nominated for an Academy Award. After the closure of Little Rock Central High School after its integration crisis, three members of the Little Rock Nine completed coursework at Beaumont.
