Strasburg is an unincorporated town located east of downtown Denver along the I-70 corridor. It is home to Strasburg School District 31-J, and there are several small businesses, medical clinics, and a post office. Strasburg is a census-designated place (CDP) located in and governed by Adams and Arapahoe counties, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Strasburg post office has the ZIP Code 80136. At the United States Census 2020, the population of the Strasburg CDP was 3,307.

Air Midwest Flight 5481 was a Beechcraft 1900D on a regularly scheduled passenger flight from Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina, to Greenville–Spartanburg International Airport in Greer, South Carolina. On the morning of January 8, 2003, the Beechcraft stalled while departing Charlotte Douglas International Airport and crashed into an aircraft hangar, killing all 21 passengers and crew aboard and injuring one person on the ground.

On October 24, 2004, a Beechcraft Super King Air 200 aircraft, registered N501RH and owned by NASCAR team Hendrick Motorsports, crashed into mountainous terrain in Stuart, Virginia, during a missed approach to Blue Ridge Airport in Martinsville, Virginia. The aircraft was transporting eight passengers and two flight crew to Martinsville so they could attend the NASCAR event at Martinsville Speedway that afternoon.

On November 17, 2011, Kurt Budke, head coach of Oklahoma State University's women's basketball team, died when the Piper Cherokee light aircraft he was traveling in crashed near Perryville, Arkansas, killing all four people on board. The airplane was piloted by former Oklahoma State Senator Olin Branstetter.
The 2015 Oklahoma State University homecoming parade attack occurred on October 24, 2015, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, when Adacia Avery Chambers intentionally drove her sedan into a crowd watching the homecoming parade for Oklahoma State University–Stillwater on the university's campus. Four people were killed in the crash, and 47 others were reported injured. Chambers pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and assault charges, and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
On 22 December 2015, a light aircraft of the Indian Border Security Force crashed within the grounds of Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, India. Ten personnel of the Border Security Force, three officers and seven senior technicians, were killed. The 22-year-old Beechcraft B200 King Air took off for Ranchi just before 9.30am, before crashing shortly afterwards. The accident was due to pilot error who incorrectly activated the autopilot and failed to take corrective action.
The 2011 Oklahoma State vs. Iowa State football game, played November 18, 2011, was an NCAA college football game held between the Oklahoma State Cowboys and the Iowa State Cyclones at Jack Trice Stadium, the home stadium of Iowa State. The game had major implications, as Oklahoma State controlled its destiny for playing in the BCS National Championship Game. In a remarkable upset, Iowa State won in double overtime, 37–31.
On 21 February 2017, at 8:59 am local time, a Beechcraft B200 King Air aircraft operating a charter flight, carrying a pilot and four passengers bound for King Island, crashed seconds after taking off from Essendon Airport in Melbourne, Australia.
The 2000–01 Oklahoma State Cowboys basketball team represented Oklahoma State University as a member of the Big 12 Conference during the 2000–01 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by 11th-year head coach Eddie Sutton and played their home games at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They finished the season 20–10, 10–6 in Big 12 play to finish in fifth place. The Cowboys lost to Missouri in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 tournament. The team received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 11 seed in the East region. Oklahoma State lost to No. 6 seed USC in the opening round.
