PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN) is a private Indonesian satellite telecommunications company. [1]
It was formed in 1991 and was the first satellite-based telecommunications company in Indonesia. In 1995, a collaboration started what was to become ACeS (Asia Cellular Satellite system). In 1998, a WAN-based service for corporate customers was introduced. In 1996, it became the first Indonesian company to be listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange.
In 2019, the company launched Nusantara Satu, Indonesia's first broadband satellite that uses high-throughput satellite technology for a greater bandwidth capacity to provide broadband access services to all regions of Indonesia.
Nusantara Satu (formerly known as PSN-6) is a communications satellite. It is a large high-throughput satellite to provide voice and data communications, and broadband Internet throughout the Indonesian archipelago and Southeast Asia. Nusantara Satu was built by Space Systems Loral and was launched in February 2019 on a Falcon 9 launch vehicle along with the private Beresheet Moon lander and S5, a small satellite by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).
Nusantara-H1-A is a 16U cubesat launching as a rideshare with ViaSat-3 on a Falcon Heavy launch no earlier than March 2023. The purpose is to retain Ka- and Ku-band rights to a geostationary orbital slot. After a minimum 3 months to satisfy 'bring into use' requirements it will move to another location. [2]
SATRIA is an Indonesian geostationary VHTS (Very High Throughput Satellite) communications satellite built by Thales Alenia Space (TAS). It is a geostationary communications satellite at 146° East. It was launched on a Falcon 9 Block 5 on the 19th of June 2023. [3] [4] Thales Alenia Space started developing the Ka-band spacecraft in September 2020. The project has secured about US$545 million in funding, partly backed by Bpifrance export-credit agency of France. [4] As prime contractor, Thales Alenia Space will deliver the satellite based on its Spacebus-Neo full electric platform and fitted with a fifth-generation digital processor (5G). [5]
This satellite will augment the capacity of SATRIA. [6] It is expected to launch Q2 2023. [7]
Spacebus is a satellite bus produced at the Cannes Mandelieu Space Center in France by Thales Alenia Space. Spacebuses are typically used for geostationary communications satellites, and seventy-four have been launched since development started in the 1980s. Spacebus was originally produced by Aérospatiale and later passed to Alcatel Alenia Space. In 2006, it was sold to Thales Group as Thales Alenia Space.

High-throughput satellite (HTS) is a communications satellite that provides more throughput than a classic FSS satellite for the same amount of allocated orbital spectrum, thus significantly reducing cost-per-bit. ViaSat-1 and EchoStar XVII do provide more than 100 Gbit/s of capacity, which is more than 100 times the capacity offered by a conventional FSS satellite. When it was launched in October 2011 ViaSat-1 had more capacity than all other commercial communications satellites over North America combined.
Athena-Fidus is a French-Italian telecommunication satellite providing high-throughput secure communications to both nation's armed forces and their emergency services. It was manufactured by Thales Alenia Space under the supervision of CNES, the Direction générale de l'armement (DGA) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI). It complements the lower-throughput but more secure Syracuse 3 satellites. The satellite has a wet mass of 3080 kg and was placed on geostationary orbit in 2014. Its expected lifetime is 15 years.
Agila-1 or Mabuhay was launched on March 20, 1987, under the name Palapa B2-P in Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. It was originally under Indonesian company, PT Pasifik Satelit Nusantara until it was acquired by Philippine company, Mabuhay Satellite Corporation which is under PLDT in 1996. Upon its acquisition by Mabuhay, it became the first Philippine satellite through acquisition while in orbit. Palapa B2-P was later renamed to "Agila-1", the local name for the Philippine eagle. The satellite's operation ended in January 1998 and was deorbited.
Kacific Broadband Satellites Group (Kacific) is a satellite operator providing a high-speed broadband internet service for the South East Asia and Pacific Islands regions. Its first Ka-band HTS satellite, Kacific1, was designed and built by Boeing and launched into geostationary orbit atop a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle on 16 December 2019.
Yamal-601 is a Russian geostationary communications satellite ordered by Gazprom Space Systems from Thales Alenia Space (TAS) on the Spacebus-4000C4 satellite bus for its Yamal programme. The satellite has mass of 5,422 kg (11,953 lb) and 11 kW of payload power with over 15 years of design life. Its payload was also supplied by Thales Alenia Space and is composed of 38 C-band and 32 Ka-band transponders. It replaced Yamal-202 on 49° East as Yamal-202 was slated to reach its end of service around 2019.
SES-17, is a high throughput all electric geostationary communications satellite owned and operated by SES S.A., and designed and manufactured by Thales Alenia Space. Launched on 24 October 2021 from Centre Spatial Guyanais (CSG), in Kourou, French Guiana by an Ariane 5ECA launch vehicle, SES-17 was positioned at 67.1° west in May 2022 and, after testing, became fully operational in June 2022.
The Geostationary Defense and Strategic Communications Satellite or SGDC is a Brazilian geostationary communication satellite that was built by Thales Alenia Space in France, it was placed in the orbital position of 75 degrees west longitude and will be operated by Telebrás. Telebrás selected Viasat as a partner to help build the associated ground system. The satellite was based on the Spacebus-4000 platform and its life expectancy will be 18 years.

Telkom 4, also known as Merah Putih, is an Indonesian geostationary communication satellite built by Space Systems/Loral that is located at an orbital position of 108° East and is operated by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk. The satellite is based on the SSL 1300 satellite bus and has a life expectancy of 16 years. It was launched on 7 August 2018, at 05:18 UTC or 12:18 Jakarta Time, using the SpaceX Falcon 9 Block 5 launcher from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida, United States.
Palapa-C2 was an Indonesian communications satellite which reached its target orbit on 16 May 1996. It was built by Hughes Space and Communications Company for Indonesian telecommunications provider PT Satelit Palapa Indonesia (SATELINDO). It was based on the HS-601 satellite bus and had 30 C-band transponders and 4 Ku-band transponders. It was due to be located in geosynchronous orbit at 113° East above the equator. It operated for more than 20 years, more than five years past the designed life time of 15 years, making it the longest operation among the Indonesian fleet of communications satellites.
