Paavai Engineering College (PEC) was established in 2001 at Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, India. It is affiliated to Anna University and part of the Paavai Institutions along with Paavai College of Engineering, Paavai College of Technology . It is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation.

History

Paavai Engineering College started in 2001. Before that Paavai Polytechnic college was started in 1998. The first batch passed out in 2005. [1]

Academics

There are 19 undergraduate departments, granting Bachelor of Engineering degrees in Aeronautical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computers Science Engineering, Computers Science Engineering, Computers Science Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Mechatronics Engineering, Food Technology, Biotech, Chemical engineering, Pharmaceutical engineering, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence And Data Science, Robotics and Automation. [2] The first four courses are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation.[ citation needed ] Postgraduate courses, granting ME are taught in Computer Science, Engineering Design, Power Electronics & Drivers and VLSI Design. [2] PEC also grants degrees for Master Of Computer Application and Master Of Business Administration. [2]

65% of the students are admitted through Anna University single window counseling and the rest are through entrance exams.[ citation needed ]

Activities

Vintage cars were displayed during the Mechanical Engineering department's symposium "Plasma 2008" in 2008. [3]

Placements

PEC reported a notable increase in placements in the academic year 2006−2007. [4] [5] In January 2006, a job fair war held in Paavai Institutions in which companies including MPhasis, Hurix Systems, HCL, SPI Technologies and KGISL participated in the fair. [6] One company that conducted a recruitment drive at the campus in 2007 was Chennai-based Care Voyant Technologies. Paavai also promote "find your own job program" where student has to find their job. [7]

University of Vishveshvarayya College of Engineering (UVCE) was established in 1917, under the name Government Engineering College, by Bharat Ratna Sir M. Vishveshvarayya. It is the 5th engineering college to be established in the country and 1st in Karnataka. UVCE is one of the few technical institutions in the country that is vested with the status of a university and autonomy on the lines of IITs. It is one of the oldest technical institutions in the country, imparting technical education leading to B.Tech., B. Arch., M.Tech., M. Anna University Regional Campus, Coimbatore is a regional campus of Anna University. It offers full time UG and PG courses in university campus in Coimbatore along with more than 40 degree programmes through its Distance Education Arm Directorate of Online and Distance Education. It was established in 2007.
