The Pakistan women's national boxing team represents Pakistan in international boxing competitions. It is administered by the Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF). The team competed internationally for the first time at the South Asian Games held in Guwahati, India in 2016. [1] [2] It debuted at the continental level at the Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2018.

History

For the first time, Pakistan send its boxing team to an international competition in 2016. A three-member team; Khoushleem, Rukhsana Parveen and Sofia Javed, competed at the South Asian Games in Guwahati, India in 2016. [1] They returned home with two bronze medals in 60 kg and 75 kg weight categories. [3] In 2018, the team debut at the Asia Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia where it sent a two-member team. [4] [5] The team competed at the South Asian Games held in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2019 where it won three bronze medals.

Mary Kom Indian boxer

Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom is an Indian amateur boxer and incumbent Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. She is the only female to become World Amateur Boxing champion for a record six times, the only female boxer to have won a medal in each one of the first seven World Championships, and the only boxer to win eight World Championship medals. Jordan at the Asian Games

Jordan have competed at all-but-one Asian Games since their first participation in 1986, with the exception of the 1990 edition in Beijing. Including the 2018 edition, Jordan have won 45 medals, including five gold, 16 silver and 24 bronze medals. Pooja Rani Bohra is a female Indian middleweight boxer. She won the bronze medal at the 2014 Asian Games in the 75 kg category. She won the gold medal in South Asian Games 2016. She also won Silver (2012) and Bronze (2015) in Asian Championship 75 kg weight categories. She represented India at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014 in the 75 kg category. In 2016, she failed to qualify for the Rio Olympics when she lost at the second round of the Women's World Boxing Championships in May 2016. In 2020 She become first Indian to qualify for 2020 Summer Olympic.

2016 South Asian Games

The 2016 South Asian Games, officially the XII South Asian Games, is a major multi-sport event which took place from 5 February to 16 February 2016 in Guwahati and Shillong, India. A total of 2,672 athletes competed in 226 events over 22 sports. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 2016 South Asian Games in Guwahati on 5 February 2016.India continued its dominance in the game's medal tally with a staggering 308 medals including 188 gold medals.

Wushu at the 2016 South Asian Games were held in Guwahati, India from 10 February – 15 February 2016.

Anusha Koddithuwakku Dirukshi, also known as Anusha Koddithuwakku, is a Sri Lankan female boxer who generally competes in light flyweight event. She has competed in several international competitions including the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships in 2012, 2014 and 2016.

India competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September. Neeraj Chopra was the flag bearer for the opening ceremony while Rani Rampal was named as the flag bearer for the closing ceremony.

She won a gold medal at the 2nd India Open International Boxing Tournament held in Guwahati. She also won a gold at the 23rd President's Cup 2019 Boxing International Open Tournament held in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara. She won a bronze in the 2019 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships held in Ulan-Ude, Russia.

Turkmenistan at the 2018 Asian Games Sporting event delegation

Turkmenistan competed at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, from 18 August to 2 September 2018. Turkmenistan first participated at the Asian Games in 1994 Hiroshima, and at the last edition in Incheon, the country won a silver and a bronze medals.

Lovlina Borgohain is an Indian amateur woman boxer who won bronze medal at the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships and the 2019 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships. She won gold medal at 1st India Open International Boxing Tournament held in New Delhi and silver medal at 2nd India Open International Boxing Tournament held in Guwahati. Simranjit Kaur Baatth is an Indian amateur boxer from Punjab. She has represented India internationally since 2011. Kaur won a bronze medal for India at the 2018 AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships. She was a part of the Indian women's boxing contingent and won a gold medal at the Ahmet Comert International Boxing Tournament in Istanbul, Turkey in the 64kg category. Baatth is First Girl of Punjab who Will participate in Olympic in Boxing. On 9th March she got Olympic Ticket for Tokyo 2020.

Mariska Halinda is an Indonesian taekwondo practitioner. She is a two-time gold medalist at the Southeast Asian Games.

The Pakistan women's national karate team represents Pakistan in international karate competitions. It is administered by the Pakistan Karate Federation (PKF). At the Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2018, Nargis Hameedullah became the first Pakistani woman to win an individual medal at the Asian Games.

Rukhsana Parveen also spelled as Rukhsana Perveen is a female boxer from Pakistan. In 2016, she along with two other team mates became the first women boxers from Pakistan to compete in an international competition when they participated at the South Asian Games in Guwahati, India. She was also included in the first ever team sent to the Asian Games.
