Paluckas Cabinet is the 19th cabinet of the national government of the Republic of Lithuania. It consists of the Prime Minister Gintautas Paluckas who is the Head of Government, and 14 government ministers from the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania, Union of Democrats "For Lithuania", and Dawn of Nemunas.
On the night of 14 October, Vilija Blinkevičiūtė and Saulius Skvernelis, the leaders of the LSDP and the DSVL respectively, agreed to cooperate in the second round and to form a coalition government afterwards. [1] LVŽS joined the agreement on 15 October. [2] On 30 October, Blinkevičiūtė confirmed that she will not be prime minister and will continue to work as a member of the European Parliament, citing her age and health. Gintautas Paluckas became the party's candidate for Prime Minister. [3]
On 7 November, the LSDP invited the DSVL and Dawn of Nemunas to form a ruling coalition, which would encompass 86 of the 141 seats in the Seimas. [4] On 21 November, Paluckas was nominated as the Prime Minister by the Seimas, with 88 votes in favor. [5]

The Social Democratic Party of Lithuania is a centre-left and social democratic political party in Lithuania. Founded as an underground Marxist organisation in 1896, it is the oldest extant party in Lithuania. During the time of the Soviet Union, the party went into exile, emerging once again after the end of communist rule in 1989.
The Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union is a green-conservative and agrarian political party in Lithuania led by Ramūnas Karbauskis. The party is considered one of the main representatives of the left wing of Lithuanian politics. Lithuanian journalist Virgis Valentinavičius described the party as "the mixture of the extreme left in economic matters and the extreme right in some social issues, all spiced up with an anti-establishment rhetoric of radical change".
Lithuania does not recognise same-sex marriages or civil unions. A bill to legalise civil unions and grant same-sex couples some legal rights and benefits is pending in the Seimas. Lithuania is the only Baltic state to not recognise same-sex couples in any form. Additionally, the Constitution of Lithuania explicitly prohibits the recognition of same-sex marriages.
The Government of Lithuania, officially the Government of the Republic of Lithuania (GRL), is the cabinet of and exercising executive power in Lithuania. Among other responsibilities, it executes laws and resolutions of the parliament, the Seimas, and the decrees of the President, manages state property and, together with the president, executes the foreign policy of the country. The Government also has the right of legislative initiative, puts together the state budget and presents it to the Seimas for approval.

Vilija Blinkevičiūtė is a Lithuanian lawyer and politician, Member of the European Parliament and former long-term Minister for Social Security and Labour. Blinkevičiūtė is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania since 2006.
Remigijus Žemaitaitis is a Lithuanian right-wing politician and member of the Seimas, known for his antisemitic statements. He is the founder and leader of the political party Dawn of Nemunas.
Saulius Skvernelis is a Lithuanian politician who served as prime minister of Lithuania between 2016 and 2020. He had previously served as police commissioner, and was Minister of the Interior from 2014 to 2016. Though he was an independent politician, he was backed by the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union and was a member of its parliamentary group until 2022, as a result of which he became the first head of government in European history primarily backed by a green party.
Skvernelis Cabinet was the 17th cabinet of Lithuania since 1990. At the end of its term, it consisted of Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis, who served as the Head of Government, and 14 government ministers from the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union, Social Democratic Labour Party of Lithuania, and Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania – Christian Families Alliance. In the beginning, the Social Democratic Party was a member of the coalition, while the Social Democratic Labour Party had not been formed yet and the Electoral Action of Poles was not a member of the coalition. The Order and Justice party joined the coalition in 2019 before dissolving itself.
Gintautas Paluckas is a Lithuanian politician serving as the 18th prime minister of Lithuania since December 2024. Paluckas served as Deputy Mayor of Vilnius from 2015 to 2019, as the leader of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party (LSDP) from 2017 to 2021 and has been a member of the Seimas since the 2020 election.
Gitanas Nausėda is a Lithuanian politician, economist, and banker who is serving as the ninth and incumbent president of Lithuania since 2019. Born in Klaipėda, Nausėda graduated from Vilnius University with an economics degree in 1987. He was director of monetary policy at the Bank of Lithuania from 1996 to 2000 and chief economist to the chairman of SEB bankas from 2008 to 2018.

The Union of Democrats "For Lithuania" is a centre-left and green Lithuanian political party founded on 29 January 2022 by Saulius Skvernelis, former Prime Minister of Lithuania. The party is moderately socially conservative.
The Political Party "Dawn of Nemunas", often shortened simply as Dawn of Nemunas or Nemunas Dawn, is a populist and nationalist political party in Lithuania. It was founded in November 2023 by Remigijus Žemaitaitis after his expulsion from the Freedom and Justice party due to his antisemitic statements. In June 2024, the party gained representation in the Seimas after three MPs joined; one formerly of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union and two formerly of the Labour Party.
The 2021 Social Democratic Party of Lithuania leadership election took place on 3–9 May 2021 to elect the chairperson of the Social Democratic Party of Lithuania. It was the third direct leadership election in the party's history.
Agnė Širinskienė is a Lithuanian politician. She was elected to the Seimas with the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union in 2016. One of the leading members of the party, she was described as "Ramūnas Karbauskis's hitwoman". She left the party in 2021 and joined Dawn of Nemunas in 2024.
Dovilė Šakalienė is a Lithuanian psychologist, journalist, and politician who has been serving as the Minister of National Defence since 12 December 2024. She has been a member of the Seimas since 2016 and previously worked as a psychologist and human rights advocate.
