Pansoul is the only album by French house duo Motorbass, released in July 1996 under the record label Motorbass. It was reissued in 2003 and then again on October 21, 2021 by the record label Ed Banger to mark the 25th anniversary of the album's release. [1] It is credited as being one of the first and most important albums in the French house genre.

In its review of the 2003 reissue, Uncut magazine called it "the starting point for the French dance movement, and therefore one of that decade's most important records. Yet the spaces its 10 tracks inhabit are far darker than anything Daft Punk or Air have achieved." [3] Keith Farley of AllMusic called it a "solid LP of retro-disco". [2]
Pansoul placed at number 59 in NME's list of "100 Lost Albums You Need to Know". [4] Pansoul was placed at number 10 in Spin magazine's list of the twenty best albums released by record label Astralwerks, in which it was called "the most important album in French house". [5]

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are an American indie rock band formed in New York City in 2000. The group is composed of vocalist and pianist Karen O, guitarist and keyboardist Nick Zinner, and drummer Brian Chase. They are complemented in live performances by second guitarist David Pajo, who joined as a touring member in 2009 and replaced Imaad Wasif, who had previously held the role. According to an interview that aired during ABC's Live from Central Park SummerStage series, the band's name was taken from modern New York City vernacular.
Astralwerks is an American record label primarily focused on electronic music owned by Universal Music Group. Its material is distributed via Capitol Music Group in the United States. The label was founded in 1993 and, in its early years, featured prominent acts like The Chemical Brothers and Fatboy Slim. In recent years, its roster has expanded to include acts like Halsey, Marshmello, Porter Robinson, Illenium, ZHU and numerous others. In 2018, Astralwerks' headquarters were moved from its original home of New York City to Los Angeles.
Tour de France Soundtracks is the eleventh studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk. It was first released on 4 August 2003, through Kling Klang and EMI in Europe and Astralwerks in North America. The album was recorded for the 100th anniversary of the first Tour de France bicycle race, although it missed its intended release date for the actual tour. It includes a new recording of their 1983 song of the same name, the cover artwork of both releases being nearly identical. The announcement of the release caused much anticipation, as it had been 17 years since the group had put out a full album of new studio material.

Screamadelica is the third studio album by Scottish rock band Primal Scream. It was first released on 23 September 1991 in the United Kingdom by Creation Records and on 8 October 1991 in the United States by Sire Records. The album marked a significant departure from the band's early indie rock sound, drawing inspiration from the blossoming house music scene and associated drugs such as LSD and MDMA. Much of the album's production was handled by acid house DJ Andrew Weatherall and engineer Hugo Nicolson, who remixed original recordings made by the band into dance-oriented tracks.

It was a popular strand of the late 1990s and 2000s European dance music scene and a form of Euro disco. The defining characteristics of the sound are heavy reliance on filter and phaser effects both on and alongside samples from late 1970s and early 1980s American or European disco tracks, causing thicker harmonic foundations than the genre's forerunners. The song was written by the duo and released as the second single from their debut studio album, Homework (1997), in April 1997. The song's only lyrics are "around the world," said 144 times. The music video was directed by Michel Gondry and choreographed by Blanca Li.
