Education

It is a part of the South Delta School District, [8] which operates South Delta High School.

Panther Burn is the setting of Alice Walker's short story "Roselily", the opening story in her first short story collection, In Love and Trouble: Stories of Black Women. [9]

The band Tav Falco's Panther Burns, which originated in nearby Memphis, takes its name from the community. [10]

In the movie "Blues Brothers 2000", Panther Burn is at the route of their journey.
