Papyrus is a 2000 platform video game developed by Planet Interactive Development and published by Ubisoft for the Game Boy Color. The game is based upon the Belgian comic book series Papyrus by Lucien De Gieter, with the player completing levels set in ancient Egypt as the titular character. Upon release, Papyrus was generally well received by critics, with praise directed to the game's visuals and animations, and criticism to its limited gameplay features and longevity.
Players are the titular Papyrus, an Egyptian fisherman tasked with rescuing the kidnapped Pharaoh's daughter Theti. [1] The game is a platform video game in which players traverse 21 levels across areas including the Forbidden Forest to the Pharaoh's Tomb, with the objective to reach the exit of the level, defeating a boss at the end of each. [1] [2] Players can attack, jump, climb, and hang from objects including vines. [2] The game contains a password save system and an Ubi Key. The Ubi Key is a feature contained in some Ubisoft Game Boy Color titles that allows players to trade unique items found in Ubisoft games to unlock additional content using the infrared link: in Papyrus, this includes a secret level. [2] Completing a level unlocks a second playable character, Theti, who has minor changes to content when replaying levels. [2]
Ubisoft announced Papyrus at the 1999 European Computer Trade Show with the intent of a Europe-only release, [3] and showcased the game at the Cannes Milia trade show in February 2000. [4]

Reception of Papyrus was generally positive. Tim Jones of IGN praised the game as a "joy to play", highlighting the game's variety of themed levels with "sharp" and "vivid" graphics, "clear and excellently animated" sprites and "fluid, responsive controls". However, Jones felt the game lacked unique gameplay features to distinguish the game from the "endless supply of traditional platformers", although still recommended the title. [2] Describing the game as a "nicely made platformer", Eliot Fish of Hyper praised the game's "top-notch" animation, control and level design and "fun" platforming, although noted "there isn't any great mental challenge". [6] Game Boy Official Magazine praised the graphics as "great", but considered gameplay to only last a "few days play". [1]
Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers is a 2000 platform game developed and published by Ubi Soft for various consoles and Windows-based personal computers. A version with the same title was released for the Game Boy Color, before it was retitled Donald Duck Advance for the Game Boy Advance. Reviews praised the music, backgrounds and animations, noting the short length and low difficulty as more fun for children.

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine is an action-adventure video game by LucasArts released in 1999. The first 3D installment in the series, its gameplay focuses on solving puzzles, fighting enemies, and completing various platforming sections. The story is set in 1947, after the events of Indiana Jones and the Iron Phoenix, and puts the eponymous protagonist, the adventurer Indiana Jones, against the Soviet Union. In a race for a mythological Babylonian power source, he joins forces with the Central Intelligence Agency and collects four pieces of the Infernal Machine, an ancient device that allegedly opens a portal to another dimension.
Space Station Silicon Valley is a platform video game developed by DMA Design and published by Take-Two Interactive. It was originally released for the Nintendo 64 in October 1998. An adaptation of the game for Game Boy Color was developed by Tarantula Studios and released in 1999. A PlayStation port, developed by Runecraft, was released in 2000, under the name Evo's Space Adventures. Players control Evo, a robot reduced to a crawling microchip after a ship crash, and are tasked with taking control of animals to solve puzzles and defeat enemies.
Tonic Trouble is a 1999 action-adventure game developed by Ubi Soft Montreal and published by Ubi Soft. The game follows janitor Ed, who drops a container of unidentified fluid from his spaceship to Earth, transforming the planet into a mutated version of itself. Drunkard Grögh drinks from the container and is granted powers that lead him to conquer Earth. Assuming the role of Ed, the player is tasked with solving puzzles and defeating enemies to acquire the tools to conquer Grögh and repossess the container to create an antidote.
TOCA: Touring Car Championship is a 3D racing video game licensed by series organisers TOCA, and developed and published by Codemasters for the PlayStation and Microsoft Windows platforms in 1997-1998. It was re-released by Codemasters for the Game Boy Color in 2000. It was the first entry in the eponymous series and was followed by TOCA 2 Touring Cars in 1998. The player takes control of a driver who races for one of the eight works teams that contested the 1997 British Touring Car Championship against fifteen AI competitors on one of the nine championship circuits. A championship mode is available for players with the objective of earning points to continue competing and unlocking new features.
Disney's 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue is a 2000 platform game developed by Toys for Bob, in its last game for Crystal Dynamics before its breakup, and published by Eidos Interactive for Windows, PlayStation, Dreamcast and Game Boy Color. It is loosely based on the live-action Disney movie 102 Dalmatians.
Monaco Grand Prix: Racing Simulation 2, also known simply as Monaco Grand Prix or Racing Simulation: Monaco Grand Prix, is a Formula One racing game developed and published by Ubisoft for Windows, Nintendo 64, PlayStation, and Dreamcast.
