Lusby is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Calvert County, Maryland, United States. The population of the CDP was 1,835 at the 2010 census. Residents of the Chesapeake Ranch Estates and Drum Point communities also use the Lusby ZIP code designation.
Charlotte Hall is a census-designated place (CDP) in Charles and St. Mary's counties, Maryland, United States. The population was 1,420 at the 2010 census. The Maryland Veterans Home for disabled veterans, including a U.S. Veterans Affairs clinic, is located on the site of the former Charlotte Hall Military Academy. The Academy site was declared the Charlotte Hall Historic District, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. Since 1940, a sizable Amish farming community has existed nearby, along with a farmers' market and large flea market complex on Maryland Route 5, which is also the site of numerous strip-mall businesses continuing into the adjacent community of Mechanicsville.
The National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum, is located in Sparks, Maryland. Prior to moving to its present location in 2016, the hall of fame and museum was located in Baltimore, Maryland, on the campus of Johns Hopkins University. The museum showcases the history of the game of lacrosse, from its Native American origins to its present-day form.
Blandair, also known as Blandair Farm, Blandair Park, and Blandair Regional Park, is 300 acres of former slave plantation located in Columbia, Maryland. The Blandair Foundation estate of Mrs. Smith was purchased by Howard County, Maryland in the late 1990s and is in the process of being developed as a regional park.
Hawthorne is a neighborhood in eastern Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Taylorsville Road, Hawthorne Avenue, Bardstown Road and I-264. The land was once part of John Speed's Farmington estate, known for its plantation house built around 1815–16. The neighborhood is primarily residential and was first subdivided in 1909, but saw its fastest grown in the 1920s. It takes its name from Hawthorne Avenue, and most of the other streets are named after writers or poets. Sullivan University is located in the neighborhood.

The Maryland Theater was a music venue in Baltimore, Maryland, home to that city's first jazz band, led by John Ridgely. It was originally built for James Lawrence Kernan (1838-1912) as a vaudeville house, in 1903, adjacent to his Hotel Kernan and included a rathskeller in the basement with some of the first music in town from a "jazz band" led by John Ridgley, at what became known later as the "marble bar" as a musical venue even up to the 1980s. Located facing West Franklin Street, between North Paca Street and west of North Howard Street, which was one of the fanciest hotels in the city at the time constructed of Beaux Arts/Classical Revival style architecture. Unfortunately, in the 1950s, the old Maryland Theatre was razed and temporarily replaced by a parking lot for the last days of the hotel.
The 1989 Maryland Terrapins football team represented University of Maryland, College Park in the 1989 NCAA Division I-A football season. The Terrapins offense scored 215 points while the defense allowed 238 points. Led by head coach Joe Krivak, the team finished the season unranked.

The community of Wyman Park is a border community that links Hampden to Roland Park. All of the Wyman Park area was annexed to Baltimore City in 1888. The general boundaries consist of the area from south to north between 33rd Street and 40th Streets and west to east from Keswick Road to Wyman Park. South of 40th Street, garden apartments, multi-story apartment buildings and single-family residences have been built. People here tend to relate to the north along 40th Street and University Parkway and The Johns Hopkins University. The Wyman Park also accommodates the Union Soldiers and Sailors Monument, located at 29th and Charles Street.
