Pars Oil Company was established in 1959 as a joint-stock company. In 1962, it was admitted to the Tehran Stock Exchange.
After the Islamic Revolution of 1979, this company was confiscated by the revolutionary government and handed over to the Foundation of the Underprivileged of the Revolution, a group of industries also (industrial resources at the disposal of about 56 families affiliated with the previous regime (under the title of state and government supervision), under the management of institutions and organizations. In the 1990s, some shares were traded between former shareholders such as Royal Dutch Shell. By the year 2000, Fuad Ray Investment Company Under the supervision of the Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order & decree with the tact and power of Mohammad Reyshahri executive headquarters, as well as some influential figures in intelligence, security, and economy, such as Abbas Suri (Hekmat) is one of the directors of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohammad Shariatmadari, former Minister of Commerce, Mahmoud Yasini, Saeidi Kia, former Minister of Roads, Gholam Hossein Nozari, former Minister of Oil, Homayun Khosravi, Behrouz Makoui, Amir Moghadam, Director of Rouhani's Presidential Office & the youngest of them Yasser Faze (1979) attributed to Ali Meshkini, bought more than 48% of the shares of Pars Oil Company, which was owned by Shell.

Sayyed Mohammad Hosseini Beheshti was an Iranian jurist, philosopher, cleric and politician who was known as the second person in the political hierarchy of Iran after the Revolution. Beheshti is considered to have been the primary architect of Iran's post-revolution constitution, as well as the administrative structure of the Islamic republic. Beheshti is also known to have selected and trained several prominent politicians in the Islamic Republic, such as former presidents Hassan Rouhani and Mohammad Khatami, Ali Akbar Velayati, Mohammad Javad Larijani, Ali Fallahian, and Mostafa Pourmohammadi. Beheshti also served as the Secretary General of the Islamic Republic Party, and was the head of the Iranian judicial system. He further served as Chairman of the Council of Islamic Revolution, and the Assembly of Experts. Beheshti earned a PhD in philosophy, and was fluent in English, German and Arabic.
Iran Khodro, branded as IKCO, is an Iranian automaker headquartered in Tehran. IKCO was founded in 1962 as Iran National. The public company manufactures vehicles, including Samand, Peugeot and Renault cars, and trucks, minibuses and buses. As of 2009, it produced 688,000 passenger cars per year.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Ground Forces, acronymed NEZSA, are the ground forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The IRGC Ground Forces are more geared towards internal disorder than the regular Iranian Army. However, in recent years, the IRGC Ground Forces and by extension the entire IRGC, have transitioned to becoming an expeditionary force, capable of projecting power abroad, through conventional military operations or via proxies and unconventional warfare. Established in 1982, the goal of the university is to bridge the gap between Islamic research and modern studies, especially humanities. The Ministry of Petroleum (MOP) (Persian: وزارت نفت, romanized: Vezârat-e Naft) manages the oil industry, the producer of oil and petrochemical products. The National Development Fund of Iran is Iran's sovereign wealth fund. It was founded in 2011 to supplement the Oil Stabilization Fund. NDFI is independent of the government's budget. Based on Article 84 of the Fifth Five-year Socio-Economic Development Plan (2010–2015), the National Development Fund was established to transform oil and gas revenues to productive investment for future generation. The Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order (EIKO), also known as the Executive Headquarters of Imam's Directive or simply Setad, is a parastatal organization in the Islamic Republic of Iran, under direct control of the Supreme Leader of Iran. It was created from thousands of properties confiscated in the aftermath of the 1979 Islamic Revolution. A Reuters investigation found that the organization built "its empire on the systematic seizure of thousands of properties belonging to ordinary Iranians", also seizing property from members of religious minorities, business people and Iranians living abroad; at times falsely claiming that the properties were abandoned.
Hossein Kazempour Ardebili was an Iranian diplomat and politician, serving as Iran's representative to OPEC from 1995 to 2008 and again from 2013 to his death in 2020. Previously, he served as the nation's commerce minister, as well as deputy foreign minister and deputy oil minister at various times in the 1980s. He served as the Iranian ambassador to Japan from 1990 to 1994. He died in 2020 due to a brain haemorrhage caused by COVID-19. Bloomberg News called Ardebili the "ultimate OPEC negotiator" who "defended Iran's oil interests through war and sanctions".

In 2013, SOC began offering shares of stock on Tehran Stock Exchange. With the annual production capacity of more than 700,000 MT, SOC is now the largest producer of base oil in the Middle East. Under the brand name of Speedy, the company is one of the main producers of diesel and engine oils in the Mideast as well.
The Oil Refinery Jey or the Oil Refining Company Jey has been established in 2003; with the investment of Oil Industry Personnel Pension Fund, with a nominal capacity of 1'800'000 tons as the largest producer of bituminous units in the Middle East.
