Pasadena High School is the first established high school in Pasadena, Texas, located along Texas State Highway 225. It serves grades 9th through 12 and is part of the Pasadena Independent School District. The principal (as of June 26, 2019) is Mrs. Laura Gomez. Pasadena High School's mascot is an eagle named "Baldy". The school colors are green and white.

Pasadena has a diverse sports programs including baseball, basketball, cross-country, track, football, soccer, volleyball, golf, tennis, aquatics (swimming, diving, fin swimming, open water) and softball. Football and basketball have the most storied tradition with a state finalist in football, a state championship in basketball, and state championships in track.
The facilities at Pasadena High School have gone through major renovations. All sub-varsity games are held on campus while some Varsity contests are held in Bob Barfield Gymnasium on campus named after Coach Barfield who led the Eagles to their State Finalist run in football. The district facilities shared by the other 4 high schools are Pasadena Veteran's Memorial Stadium for football and soccer, Auxiliary Stadium, basketball and volleyball share Weldon "Stoney" Phillips Field House which is named after Coach Phillips who coached the Eagles from 1951 to 1957. Baseball is played at Maguire Field which is named after Coach John "Maggie" Maguire who coached the Eagles Baseball team to the state Championship Game. Varsity contests and Softball and sub-varsity baseball games are played at the P.I.S.D. Sports Complex. The aquatics program (swimming, diving, finswimming, open water) trains and competes at Shippey Aquatic Center located at the Pasadena ISD Athletic Complex.
Pasadena High School's organizations consist of The Eagle Alliance (band), The Junior ROTC (Marine Division), Orchestra, The Eagle Escort (dance team), HOSA, Choir, Theatre, photography and a slew of clubs and organizations.
The Texas Longhorns are the athletic teams representing the University of Texas at Austin. The teams are sometimes referred to as the Horns and take their name from Longhorn cattle that were an important part of the development of Texas, and are now the official "large animal" of the state of Texas. Generally, both the men's and women's teams are referred to as the Longhorns, and the mascot is a Texas Longhorn steer named Bevo. The Longhorns have consistently been ranked as the biggest brand in collegiate athletics, in both department size and breadth of appeal.

Bernard W. Bierman was an American college football coach best known for his years as head coach of the Minnesota Golden Gophers football program. Between 1934 and 1941, his Minnesota teams won five national championships and seven Big Ten championships and had four perfect seasons. Bierman's five national championships rank him among the greatest college football coaches of all time, as only 2 coaches have won more.

Peter Willis Cawthon was an American football, basketball, and baseball player, coach, and college athletics administrator. He served as the head football coach at Austin College from 1923 to 1927 and at Texas Technological College—now Texas Tech University—from 1930 to 1940, compiling a career college football coaching record of 99–52–10. Cawthon was the head coach for the Brooklyn Dodgers/Tigers of the National Football League (NFL) from 1942 to 1943. He served as the athletic director at Texas Tech from 1930 to 1941 and the University of Alabama from 1952 to 1953.
Leo Robert "Dutch" Meyer was an American football, basketball, and baseball player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Texas Christian University (TCU) from 1934 to 1952, compiling a record of 109–79–13. His TCU Horned Frogs football teams of 1935 and 1938 have been recognized as national champions. Meyer was also the head basketball coach at TCU from 1934 to 1937, tallying a mark of 10–37, and the head baseball coach at TCU, amassing a record of 111–83–1. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 1956.

Curtice served as the head football coach West Texas State (1940–1941), Texas Western (1946–1949), Utah (1950–1957), Stanford (1958–1962), and UC Santa Barbara (1962–1969). His teams were known for their passing offenses. His overall record was 135–115–8.
George Cafego was an American football player and coach of football and baseball. He played college football at the University of Tennessee, earning varsity letters 1937–1939, and professionally in the National Football League (NFL) with the Brooklyn Dodgers, Washington Redskins, and Boston Yanks. He served as the head baseball coach at the University of Wyoming in 1950 and at his alma mater, Tennessee, from 1958 to 1962. Cafego was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1969.
John "Weenie" Wilson was an American football, basketball, and baseball coach and teacher at the Dodgeville High School in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. He was a nationally ranked punter while at the University of Wisconsin and played for the Green Bay Packers before enlisting in the United States Navy prior to World War II. He is the only coach to be inducted into all three Wisconsin high school sports halls of fame, for football, basketball, and baseball.
