The Polestar 4 is a battery electric compact luxury crossover SUV produced by Swedish automaker Polestar since 2023. The vehicle is manufactured by Geely Holding in a factory in Hangzhou Bay, China. [5] The 4 is the third vehicle to use the rear- and all-wheel drive based platform, Sustainable Experience Architecture. The vehicle is a coupe SUV that went into production in November 2023, [6] and from launch will have two powertrain options. [7]
The vehicle was unveiled in April 2023 at the 2023 Auto Shanghai, [8] as part of Geely's new SEA platform, where it underpins primarily battery electric vehicles, such as the Zeekr X and the Polestar 5. Positioned between the smaller Polestar 2 compact executive liftback and the larger Polestar 3 mid-size luxury crossover, it belongs to the British D-segment size segmentation. Having no rear window, it instead showcases a roof-mounted camera system. Polestar claims it is the fastest production car the brand has made, accelerating from 0–62 mph (0–100 km/h) in 3.8 seconds.
The 4 is a two-row coupe crossover, that has a choice of the rear-wheel drive model where the motor is placed at the rear axle, or the performance all-wheel drive model where the motors are placed at both the front and rear axles. [9]
The vehicle is to be available in Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific from 2024.
Standard equipment includes the 15.4-inch landscape touchscreen which consists of the Android Automotive, which is used on the Polestar 2. A 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 14.7-inch head-up display come standard. A full-length glass roof, and a digital rear-vision mirror are available, and interior, which according to Polestar, is made from 100 per cent recycled polyester. The 4 will feature 20- to 22-inch wheels, depending on the trim chosen. [10]
The 4 consists of 2 models, the Single Motor RWD, and the Dual Motor AWD. The Single Motor generates 272 hp (203 kW) and 343 N⋅m (253 lbf⋅ft), with a top speed of 180 km/h (110 mph) and a 0–62 mph (0–100 km/h) of 7.4 seconds. The Dual Motor generates a combined output of 544 hp (406 kW) and 686 N⋅m (506 lbf⋅ft) using both of its motor, with a top speed of 200 km/h (120 mph) and a 0–62 mph (0–100 km/h) of 3.8 seconds. Both models use a 400 V, 102 kWh lithium nickel manganese cobalt battery.

The Porsche Cayenne is a series of automobiles manufactured by the German company Porsche since 2002. It is a luxury crossover SUV, and has been described as both a full-sized and a mid-sized vehicle. The first generation was known within Porsche as the Type 9PA (955/957) or E1. It was the first V8-engined vehicle built by Porsche since 1995, when the Porsche 928 was discontinued. It is also Porsche's first off-road variant vehicle since its Super and Junior tractors of the 1950s, as well as the first production Porsche with four doors. Since 2014, the Cayenne has been sold alongside a smaller Porsche SUV, the Macan.
The BMW X6 is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV by German automaker BMW. The BMW X6 is the originator of the sports activity coupé (SAC), referencing its sloping rear roof design. It combines the attributes of an SUV with the stance of a coupé. It is built in BMW's North American plant in Greer, South Carolina alongside the BMW X5, whose platform it shares. Prior to the release of the X7, the X6 was considered a flagship SUV for BMW.

The Polestar 1 is a 2-door plug-in hybrid sports car marketed by Polestar, a brand of Volvo Cars. It was the first car produced by the company since becoming an independent car manufacturer in June 2017. Based on Volvo's Concept Coupé from 2013, the Polestar 1 is built on the Volvo Scalable Product Architecture platform and is powered by a hybrid powertrain, using a front-mounted engine and two electric motors at the rear. A limited production run of 1,500 cars took place over three years, from 2019 to 2022, for the left-hand drive market only. Production took place in Chengdu, China, where the company's first production facility was built.
