Poovaiyar is an Indian gaana singer and actor who works in Tamil-language films. [2] He is known for being a part of Season 6 of Star Vijay's Super Singer Junior and co-singing "Verithanam" from Bigil (2019). [3] [4]

Career

Poovaiyar participated and became the second runner up of Super Singer Junior 6. [5] [6] He sang a song in Natpe Thunai (2019) along with Hiphop Tamizha Adhi. [7] Poovaiyar co-sang the song "Verithanam" in the film Bigil (2019) with Vijay and Sangeetha Rajeshwaran in addition to appearing in the song. [8] [9] [10] [11] Poovaiyar sang the song "Kolamav Kokkila" in the film 50/50 (2019). [12] The film picturizes Yogi Babu and is inspired by the song "Kalyaana Vayasu" from Kolamavu Kokila . [1] He later appeared in Master (2021), [13] and has been signed to play a role in the films Andhagan and Cobra . [14] [7]

Airtel Super Singer Junior Ithu Thamizhagathin Chellakuralukkana Thedal – is a reality TV show since February 2007 hosted by Vijay TV, a popular Tamil channel of the Star Network, and sponsored by Bharti Airtel. It is a singing talent hunt for the children of age group 6–15. This is the junior version of the Airtel Super Singer show, which premiered on 28 April 2006. Auditions are held in various parts of Tamil Nadu, India. The show attracts many kids from all over the state and rigorous multi-level selection procedures are done in order to select the contestants for the competition. The tenth season is set to launch very soon.

Vivek Velmurugan known by his stage name Vivek is an Indian lyricist working on Tamil language films. Natpe Thunai is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language sports film directed by D. Parthiban Desingu in his directorial debut, while Sreekanth Vasrp and Devesh Jeyachandran wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues. Produced by Sundar C and Khushbu under the banner Avni Movies, the film stars Hiphop Tamizha, Harish Uthaman, newcomer Anagha and Karu Pazhaniappan alongside actors Sha Ra, Pandiarajan and Kausalya. It is based on the sport of field hockey. In 2021, it was remade in Telugu as A1 Express.

Bigil (transl. Whistle) is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language sports action drama film directed by Atlee and produced by AGS Entertainment. The film stars Vijay in dual lead roles, alongside an ensemble cast of Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Vivek, Kathir, Daniel Balaji, Anandaraj, Yogi Babu, I. M. Vijayan, Arjan Bajwa, Indhuja Ravichandran, Reba Monica John, Amritha Aiyer and Varsha Bollamma. It is the third and final collaboration of Vijay with Atlee after Theri (2016) and Mersal (2017). The film follows Michael Rayappan a.k.a. "Bigil", a former footballer-turned-gangster, who ends up as coach of a women's football team.

"Singappenney" (transl. Lioness) is a 2019 Indian Tamil language song composed and sung by A. R. Rahman, from the film Bigil. The song's lyrics were written by Vivek and featured additional vocals by Shashaa Tirupati. The song has a motivational theme for women, hailed as a women's anthem. The song was released as a first single track of the film on 23 July 2019. The song features Vijay including the 11 women football players. Rahman and Atlee Kumar has a special entrance in the film through this song.

Master is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and produced by XB Film Creators. The film stars Vijay in the lead role as the protagonist and Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist. Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Arjun Das, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Gouri G. The film stars Vijay and Pooja Hegde in the lead roles, alongside Selvaraghavan, Shaji Chen, VTV Ganesh, Ankur Vikal, Aparna Das, Sathish Krishnan, Shine Tom Chacko, Yogi Babu and Redin Kingsley. In the film, Veera Raghavan, an ex-RAW agent, seeks to rescue hostages in a shopping mall which is hijacked by terrorists, whose intentions are to free their leader Umar Farooq, who was previously captured by Veera.

Rahman, the song featured lyrics written by Vivek and sung by actor Vijay, who also played the protagonist in the film. It is the first song Vijay has recorded for Rahman. The song was released by Sony Music India on 1 September 2019, and its video version was unveiled on 1 November.

Maalavika Sundar is an Indian playback singer and actress, who works in predominately Tamil cinema. She participated in the reality show, Super Singer 3, in 2010 which was aired in Star Vijay and Indian Idol. She made her acting debut with the film Velvet Nagaram in 2020.
