The Port of Rostov-on-Don is a major sea and river port, and one of the oldest in Russia. The port has 56 berths and a berth wall length of over 9000 m. The carrying capacity of its cargo terminals is around 18 million tons per year, which puts it in the top 15 largest Russian sea ports. The total number of stevedores is 24. Structurally, it consists of port facilities belonging to JSC "Rostov port", LLC "Rostov universal port" (RUP) and other companies.
It has four geographically independent cargo areas:
JSC "Rostov port" can simultaneously handle up to 16 vessels of up to 5000 tonnes of river-sea class of the following types: the Volga-Balt, Volga-Don, Sormovo, Siberia, Omsk, Amur and others, including foreign vessels with similar characteristics and a draft of up to 4 meters. Central cargo area under the general plan of the city of Rostov-on-Don is planned to withdraw from the city center.
Rostov Universal Port is the project of three cargo areas, located on the left bank of the river. Don in the industrial zone "Zarechnaya":
In 2014 the port has a container (delivery of a weekly container line along the route Rostov-on-Don - Istanbul), coal, grain and a terminal of general goods situated on an area of 100 hectares, has 7 berths with a length of the quay wall 1,150 meters, open storage areas area of 90 thousand square meters.
Further development and construction of the third cargo area will create up to 27 general-purpose and specialized berthing facilities, increase the port area to 400 hectares. By order of the Russian Federation from 20.05.2008 № 377 investment project "Development of RUP" given the status of national importance. In addition the project is included in the federal target program "Development of Transport System of Russia" (2010-2015 gg. And up to 2020). The design capacity of the port will reach 16 million tons per year.

Rostov-on-Don is a port city and the administrative centre of Rostov Oblast and the Southern Federal District of Russia. It lies in the southeastern part of the East European Plain on the Don River, 32 kilometers (20 mi) from the Sea of Azov, directly north of the North Caucasus. The Great Port of St. Petersburg or Port of St. Petersburg is a major seaport serving the city of St. Petersburg in northwest Russia. The port's water area is 164.6 km2. The mooring line is 31 km long and the water is 25 metres (82 ft) deep at the port's deepest anchorages. Since 2011, the port has been under the authority of a state-owned enterprise, the Port Authority of the Great Port of St. Petersburg. This agency oversees commercial navigation in the seaport of St. Petersburg and beyond in the designated areas of responsibility of the Russian Federation.
Port of Arkhangelsk is a major seaport at Arkhangelsk, located at the mouth of the Northern Dvina River, 50 km from the Dvina Bay of the White Sea. The important point links with coastal areas of the Russian North. For much of Russia's history this was Russia's main centre of international maritime trade, conducted by the so-called Pomors from Kholmogory.
Novorossiysk Sea Port is one of the largest ports in the Black Sea basin and the largest in Krasnodar Krai. At 8.3 km, the NSP berthing line is the longest among all the ports of Russia. The port is located on the Northeast coast of the Black Sea, in the Tsemes Bay. The bay is ice-free and open for navigation all year round. However, in winter the navigation occasionally stops due to the hazardous northeastern bora wind. The Tsemes Bay allows deep-draft vessels up to 19 m DWT, the inner harbour — up to 12.5 m. The liquid bulk terminals depth range from 8.4 to 15.6 m, suitable for tankers with a deadweight of up to 250,000 tons, like Suezmax-class vessels.
"Rosterminal" Joint Stock Company (Rosterminalugol) is the largest special-purpose coal port in the Northwest of Russia, built using new technology and providing customers in Europe, African countries, the Middle East and Latin America with Russian coal products from Kuzbass and other coal basins. The automatization level of the port's technological processes is 100%. In 2016, the year-end freight turnover of JSC 'Rosterminalugol' increased by 3.4% and reached an all-time high of 18.1 million tonnes, which represents more than 60% of coal handling in the Baltic basin ports and about 14% among all Russian coal ports.
Port Management Company is the Russian stevedore company fulfilling the powers of the sole executive body of the specialized coal sea ports of Russia located in the Far East and in the Baltic Sea region.
JSC "Vostochny Port" is the largest stevedoring company in Russia, specialising in coal transshipment using automated conveyor equipment. The level of automation of operations is 100%. The port's main cargo is coal mined in Kuzbass, Eastern Siberia and the Far East. More than 99% of cargo is exported, primarily to countries in the Asia-Pacific region which include mainly South Korea, Japan, and China. It is the largest coal terminal in Russia. In 2016, the company shipped 23.5 million tonnes of coal, which is about 30% of the Far East ports' cargo turnover and about 20% of the cargo turnover of all coal ports in Russia. The sole executive body of JSC "Vostochny Port" is "Managing Port Company", LLC.
Platov International Airport is an airport close to the stanitsa of Grushevskaya, Aksaysky District, Rostov Oblast, Russia near the city of Novocherkassk northeast of Rostov-on-Don. It serves Rostov-on-Don and started operation in December 2017. It is named after Matvei Platov.
"Delo" Group of Companies is the most extensive transport and logistics holding in Russia. It operates maritime container and deep-water grain terminals in the Sea of Azov and Black Sea, Baltic and Far Eastern basins. NUTEP container terminal is a container terminal at the Novorossiysk Sea Port for ro/ro, container and general cargo. It was built in 2002—2004 as a subsidiary of Russian stevedoring holding DeloPorts.

According to the information on the official website, Olya port has 10 docks 5m deep. The length of the waterfront is 688,2m, water area is 53,12km², the throughput capacity of the cargo terminals is 1,580,000 tons a year
Astrakhan is a sea port in the city of Astrakhan in Astrakhan Oblast, Russia. The port is located in the Trusovsky District on the right shore of Volga river. According to the Sea Port Register, Astrakhan port has 26 docks. The length of the waterfront is 3,604.88m, water area is 53.96 km2, the throughput capacity of the cargo terminals is 9,934.5 thousand tons a year.
Pivdennyi Seaport is a commercial seaport in the Ukrainian city of Yuzhne near Odesa, on the Black Sea coast.
Zaporizhzhia River Port specializes in the processing of ore, coke, coal, scrap metal, hardware, fertilizers, clay, sand, ferroalloys, and bauxite. The port's cargo processing capacity is 6 million tons per year. Zaporizhzhia River Port accepts vessels of the river-sea type with a length of up to 180 m and a depth of up to 4 m. The port area is 39.7 hectares and includes 13 cargo berths with a total length of 2787.7 m, including two berths in the Port of Nikopol.
