Power Rangers Prime is an ongoing American comic book series written by Melissa Flores, with art by Michael Yg and Fabi Marques. The series debuted on November 13, 2024, being published by Boom! Studios. Based on Hasbro's Power Rangers franchise, the series is set in a rebooted continuity from the previous Power Rangers comics (2016–2024). [1]

Background

Since 2016 to 2024, Boom! Studios published a Power Rangers comic book continuity, which featured events like "Shattered Grid", "Necessary Evil", "Unlimited Power/The Eltarian War", and "Charge to 100!", concluding with the '' Recharged/Darkest Hour '' crossover storyline. [2]

Development

In August 2024, it was announced that a new series dubbed Power Rangers Prime would debut in November later that year. The series, written by Melissa Flores and illustrated by Michael Yg, will serve as a reboot to Boom!'s comic continuity. [1]

Power Rangers is an entertainment and merchandising franchise created by Haim Saban, Shuki Levy and Shotaro Ishinomori and built around a live-action superhero television series, based on Japanese tokusatsu franchise Super Sentai and currently owned by American toy and entertainment company Hasbro through a dedicated subsidiary, SCG Power Rangers LLC. It was first produced in 1993 by Saban Entertainment, which Saban sold to the Walt Disney Company and then brought back under his now-defunct successor company Saban Brands within his current company, Saban Capital Group, the Power Rangers television series takes much of its footage from the Super Sentai television series produced by Toei Company. VR Troopers is a syndicated live-action superhero-adventure television series produced and distributed by Saban Entertainment from 1994 to 1996. The show tried to profit from the fascination with virtual reality in the mid-1990s as well as the success of Saban's other property, Power Rangers. There have been four main publishers of the comic book series bearing the name Transformers based on the toy lines of the same name. The Transformers: Hearts of Steel is a comic book miniseries published by IDW Publishing. It was intended to be part of a comic book line titled The Transformers: Evolutions, following the same idea of DC Comics' Elseworlds series. Each series was to create an alternative reality: a continuity in a different time era during which the Transformers would exist. In other words, the Transformers can exist at places and at points in time that would not be possible in the current 'IDW-verse'. As of 2007, only the Hearts of Steel series was produced, which is set in the United States during the Industrial Revolution.
