Prakash Varma is an Indian filmmaker who has directed and produced many popular advertisement campaigns including the iconic Vodafone commercials featuring ZooZoos. He comes from a Malayali family. [1] [2] Varma heads Nirvana Films, one of India's most successful production houses of television commercials. [3]

In September 2009, Varma was signed by Michael Bay's advertisement film production house, The Institute. to direct commercials for them. [4]

He has also directed two critically acclaimed Tamil films, Minsara Kanavu (1997) and Kandukondain Kandukondain (2000), winning a Filmfare Award for the latter. After a sabbatical, Menon returned to directing with Sarvam Thaala Mayam.

<i>Naan Aval Adhu</i> Unreleased film directed by Kona Venkat

Naan Aval Adhu is an unreleased Indian Tamil-language horror film directed by Kona Venkat. Madhavan, Shamita Shetty and Sadha featured in the leading roles, while the film had songs and score composed by four music directors including G. V. Prakash Kumar and Dharan. A remake of the Hindi film, Darling (2007), the film was initially launched in 2006 as Ram Gopal Varma's production, but was eventually sold to Storm Pictures after Varma, Venkat and Madhavan had gone through creative differences. During post-production, the unit experienced further difficulties after the producer had failed to pay technicians, and subsequently the film did not have a theatrical release.

ZooZoos are white creatures with ballooned bodies and egg heads who are used to promote various value added services of Vodafone. These characters are played by human actors in body suits. The ads were created by Ogilvy & Mather, the agency handling Vodafone advertisements.
The ads were shot by Bangalore based Nirvana Films in Cape Town, South Africa. Prakash Varma directed the ads.

Raahu is a 2020 Indian Telugu-language thriller film written and directed by debutant Subbu Vedula. The film features Kriti Garg and AbeRaam Varma in the lead roles while Vedula, Satyam Rajesh, Prabhakar, and Raja Ravindra play supporting roles with music composed by Praveen Lakkaraju. The plot revolves around Bhanu (Garg) who suffers conversion disorder, which makes her temporarily blind upon the sight of blood.
