President of Tsinghua University

The president of Tsinghua University is the chief administrator of Tsinghua University, a national public research university in Beijing, China. After 1992, each president of Tsinghua University is appointed by and is responsible to the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and the State Council, who delegate to him or her the day-to-day running of the university. [1]

The university's current president is Wang Xiqin, who assumed the office in February 2022. [2]

Project 211 was a former project of developing comprehensive universities and colleges initiated in 1995 by the Ministry of Education of China, with the intent of raising the research standards of comprehensive universities and cultivating strategies for socio-economic development. The name for the project comes from an abbreviation of the slogan "In preparation for the 21st century, successfully managing 100 universities" (面向21世纪,办好100所高校). One hundred was the approximate number of participating universities.

Shenzhen Middle School, commonly referred as SMS or SZMS, is a high school located in Luohu District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Founded in 1947, it was made the only provincial key high school in Shenzhen in 1983. In November 1993, it became one of the first Class-One Schools of Guangdong Province. In 1998, Shenzhen Middle School merged with Honghu Middle School, and the latter's campus is now Shenzhen Middle School's junior school. In total, its junior and senior campuses cover an area of 107,602 square metres (1,158,220 sq ft). The student-teacher ratio is about 10:1. Zhu Huawei is the current principal.

Chen Xi is a Chinese politician currently serving as the head of the Organization Department of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and president of the Central Party School. Between 2017 and 2022, Chen has was a member of the Politburo of the CCP and a secretary of the Secretariat of the CCP. A graduate from Tsinghua University, Chen served as the party chief of the institution from 2002 to 2008. Thereafter he served as a vice-minister of education and vice chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology.

The World First Class UniversityandFirst Class Academic Discipline Construction, together known as Double First Class, is a tertiary education development initiative designed by the People's Republic of China central government in 2015, which aims to comprehensively develop elite Chinese universities into world-class institutions by the end of 2050 through developing and strengthening their individual faculty departments. The Double First-Class University Plan has made new arrangements for the Chinese higher education institution development. The universities included in this plan are called Double First Class Universities.

Mei Yiqi or Mei Yi-chi, courtesy name Yuehan, was a Chinese politician, physicist and educator, who served two separate terms as Ministry of Education of the Republic of China, from 1948 to 1949 and from 1958 to 1961. He was President of National Tsinghua University between 1931 and 1948, making him the university's longest serving president.

Wang Xiqin is a Chinese academic administrator who serves the current president of Tsinghua University since February 2022.

Chen Xu is a Chinese politician and the current deputy head of the Chinese Communist Party's United Front Work Department and director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, in office since 2022. Previously she served as the CCP committee secretary of Tsinghua University. She is an alternate member the 19th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.

Li Peng is a Chinese physiologist who is a professor at Tsinghua University, and currently president of Zhengzhou University. She is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. She is a member of the Chinese Communist Party.
