Janata Dal was an Indian political party which was formed through the merger of Janata Party factions, the Lok Dal, Indian National Congress (Jagjivan), and the Jan Morcha united on 11 October 1988 on the birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan under the leadership of V. P. Singh.
Ram Vilas Paswan was an Indian politician from Bihar and the Cabinet Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in the first and second Modi ministries. Paswan was also the president of the Lok Janshakti Party, nine-times Lok Sabha member and two-time Rajya Sabha MP. He started his political career as member of Samyukta Socialist Party and was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1969. The Lok Janshakti Party was a state political party mainly based in the state of Bihar, India. The party was formed in 2000 when Ram Vilas Paswan split from Janata Dal. The party had a considerable following amongst Dalits in Bihar. The Party is factioned into two parties Lok Janshakti Party and Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party.

After the faction in Lok Janshakti Party, he is National President of Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party.

The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is an Indian political party formed in 2021 under the leadership of Chirag Paswan. It has recently been allotted a new symbol by the Election Commission, separate from the main Lok Janshakti Party. It is now one of two separate factions, the other being the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party. In January 2022, Bhartiya Sablog Party merged into it.
Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party is an Indian political party formed in October 2021 under the leadership of MP Pashupati Kumar Paras. It was previously part of the unified Lok Janshakti Party but it has now factioned into two parties, with the other faction forming the Lok Janshakti Party. After faction Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party led by Pashupati Paras become part of NDA.
