Abdul Bari Siddiqui is an Indian politician who was the Finance Minister of Bihar. He was a MLA representing Alinagar, Darbhanga, Bihar. Siddiqui is a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal political party. He won in the 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly election. In 2019 Loksabha elections he contested from Darbhanga and lost to Gopal Jee Thakur of BJP by a margin of 2,67,979 votes.

It is one of the largest student organisations in Bihar. It is a registered organization under the provisions of the Societies Registration Act, 1860 under the Indian constitution. Anup Maithil is the founder president of Mithila Student Union. They mostly keep Mithila Art Boarded Maroon Gamchha on their Sholder which is the Symbol of Passion, Love, Bravery and Courage.

Darbhanga Airport is a domestic airport and an Indian Air Force Station, serving Darbhanga, Bihar, India. It is located just at the outskirts of the city near the NH-105 and NH-57 highways, which passes through Darbhanga. The airport is operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). The foundation stone for the airport was laid by the then Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, and the then Civil Aviation Minister, Suresh Prabhu, in the presence of the State Civil Aviation Minister, Jayant Sinha, on 24 December 2018. After efforts taken by the MP of Darbhanga, Gopal Jee Thakur, and the then Civil Aviation Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri. Commercial flights started on 8 November 2020.

Janardan Paswan is an Indian politician and two-time elected member from Chatra Vidhan Sabha constituency to Bihar and Jharkhand assembly. First he was elected in year 1995 on the ticket of Janta Dal for Bihar legislative assembly. After the partition of state of Bihar into two states Bihar and Jharkhand on 14 November 2000, BJP won the Chatra seat twice. Then again in year 2009 assembly election Janardan Paswan got the mandate of people of Chatra on the ticket of RJD, and served his second tenure as MLA in Jharkhand legislative assembly.

Dilip Kumar Choudhary is an Indian politician from Darbhanga Graduate Constituency in Bihar. He was a Member of the Bihar Legislative Council two times, since 2007 and 2014. From the year 1990 to 2002, he was a councillor of Darbhanga Municipal Corporation. He completed his master's degree in chemistry subject from Lalit Narayan Mithila University and Ph.D. from Allahabad University. Choudhary is a professor of chemistry in Chandradhari Mithila Vigyan Mahavidyalaya at Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga. Since February 2022, he is also principal of C.M. Science College along with the charge of C. M. Law College, Darbhanga. His father, Late Dr. Nilambar Chaudhary was also a Senior Leader of the Indian National Congress and a member of the Bihar Legislative Council multiple times from Darbhanga Graduate Constituency.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mithila State Movement</span> Movement for proposed separate Mithila state in India

Mithila State Movement is a movement advocating a separate Mithila state in India. This movement gained momentum in 1902 AD when Sir George Grierson, an official of the British Indian government, prepared a map of Mithila state by conducting a language-based survey. In 1881 AD, the word Mithila was added to the dictionary of the British India government. According to the founder, president Dr. Dhanakar Thakur of the International Maithili Council in the proposed Mithila state, 24 districts of Bihar and six districts of Jharkhand, a total of 30 districts, have been included, which has a population of about 70 million. At the same time, the area is 70 thousand square km.
