The Bharatiya Janata Party is one of two major political parties in India,along with the Indian National Congress. It has been the ruling political party of the Republic of India since 2014 under its prime minister,Narendra Modi. The BJP is a right-wing party,and its policy has historically reflected Hindu nationalist positions. It has close ideological and organisational links to the much older Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). As of 17 February 2022,it is the country's largest political party in terms of representation in the national parliament and state legislatures.
Lal Krishna Advani is an Indian politician who served as the 7th Deputy Prime Minister of India from 2002 to 2004. Advani is one of the co-founders and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is currently amongst the few living individuals who have witnessed the Indian freedom struggle and still never participated in it.
The Bharatiya Jana Sangh was an Indian right wing political party that existed from 1951 to 1977 and was the political arm of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS),a Hindu nationalist volunteer organisation. In 1977,it merged with several other left,centre and right parties opposed to the Indian National Congress and formed the Janata Party. In 1980,Jana Sangh faction broke away from Janata Party over the issue of dual membership,and formed Bharatiya Janata Party.

On 20 August 2019 he was inducted as a Cabinet Minister in the BJP government led by B.S. Yediyurappa. He served as Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Council (2014-2018).
K. Jana Krishnamurthi was an Indian political leader who rose to be the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2001. A former Union Law Minister and a member of the Parliament of India,Krishnamurthi was the second person from Tamil Nadu to head a national party in India after Kamaraj.
