Veena Devi (born 22 April 1967) is an Indian politician serving her 2nd term as current Member of parliament from Vaishali. She is a former member of Bihar Legislative Assembly from the Gaighat constituency. In the 2019 Indian general election, she contested from Vaishali with Lok Janshakti Party and defeated Raghuvansh Prasad Singh. [1]

Political career

On 2 September 2021, she became the parliamentary chairperson of Lok Janshakti Party replacing Chirag Kumar Paswan. [2] [3]

Early life

Devi was born on 22 April 1967 in Darbhanga, Bihar, to Upendra Prasad Singh and Sabujkala Devi. She is a matriculate. [4] She married Dinesh Prasad Singh, who is the MLC from Muzaffarpur, on 27 April 1984. [4] [5] [6] They have two sons and two daughters. [4] She lives in Dauadpur village. [7]

She became an MLA in the Vidhan Sabha election in 2010 in Gaighat with BJP. She had contested the 2010 Vidhan Sabha elections from Ghaighat Seat on the BJP ticket. She was ex Chairperson from Muzaffarpur. [8] [9] She became the chairperson of Muzaffarpur district in 2001 and the deputy chairperson in 2006.

Rama Kishore Singh is an Indian politician and is a former member of the Indian Parliament from Vaishali, Bihar. He won the 2014 Indian general election as a Lok Jan Shakti Party candidate. He defeated vice-president of RJD Raghuvansh Prasad Singh by around 1 lakh votes. He enjoys considerable support from the Rajput caste despite having criminal antecedent. He quit all party posts he held on 15 September 2015.

Renu Kushawaha, an Indian politician, is a leader of Lok Janshakti Party and a former state minister of Bihar. She hails from Khagaria. She has been associated with several political parties in past, right from Samata Party and Janata Dal (United) to Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2015, she contested from Samastipur Assembly seat on a BJP ticket where she lost to RJD candidate.

Raju Tiwari is an Indian politician. He is the State President of Lok Janshakti Party since June 2021. He was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly representing the Govindganj Assembly Constituency in 2015 Bihar Legislative Assembly election as a Member of the Lok Janshakti Party. He is brother of the Former Member of Bihar Legislator Rajan Tiwari.
