The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (abbreviated asLJP (RV)) is an Indian political party formed in 2021 under the leadership of Chirag Paswan. [3] Election Commission of India froze the symbol of erstwhile main Lok Janshakti Party [4] and allotted new name and symbol to both factions. [5] It is now one of two separate factions - the other being the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party. [6] [7]
LJP (RV) fielded candidates in 15 seats - two candidates won from Pughoboto and Tobu and eight candidates came second in eight other seats. The party received "state party" status in Nagaland, with around 8.65% of total votes. [8] [9]
LJP (RV) fielded 1 candidate as part of the National Democratic Alliance from Chatra Assembly constituency. It won from the only seat it contested and had an overall vote share of 0.61%.

Janata Dal was an Indian political party which was formed through the merger of Lok Dal, Indian National Congress (Jagjivan), and the Jan Morcha on 11 October 1988—the birth anniversary of Jayaprakash Narayan under the leadership of V. P. Singh.
Ram Vilas Paswan was an Indian politician from Bihar and the Cabinet Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in the first and second Modi ministries. Paswan was also the president of the Lok Janshakti Party, nine-times Lok Sabha member and two-time Rajya Sabha MP. He started his political career as member of Samyukta Socialist Party and was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1969. Later, Paswan joined Lok Dal upon its formation in 1974, and became its general secretary. He opposed the emergency, and was arrested during this period. He first entered the Lok Sabha in 1977, as a Janata Party member from Hajipur constituency, and was elected again in 1980, 1989, 1991, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2004 and 2014.
The Lok Janshakti Party was a state political party mainly based in the state of Bihar, India. The party was formed in 2000 when Ram Vilas Paswan split from Janata Dal. The party had a considerable following amongst Dalits in Bihar. The party is factioned into two parties Lok Janshakti Party and Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party.
Meraj Khalid Noor is an Indian politician who is mainly known for his supposed resemblance to Osama bin Laden. He campaigned for the Lok Janshakti Party in the 2004 national elections, then for Rashtriya Janata Dal in the 2005 Bihar state elections. He wanted to run against Narendra Modi in the 2014 national elections, but could not get a party to back him. He subsequently formed his own party, but was dismissed as a candidate by the electoral authorities.

Chirag Kumar Paswan is an Indian politician and former actor who is serving as the 19th Minister of Food Processing Industries since June 2024, the 1st president of the Lok Janshakti Party since 2021, 2nd president of the Lok Janshakti Party from 2019 to 2021 and a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from the Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency since 2024. He is the son of late Member of Parliament and Union Minister, Ram Vilas Paswan.
Bhudeo Choudhary is an Indian politician currently serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Dhoraiya seat in Bihar representing the Rashtriya Janata Dal and former member of parliament. He has been the state president of the Rashtriya Lok Samata Party in Bihar till September 2020. Prior to the Bihar Assembly Elections 2020, he joined Rashtriya Janata Dal.
