National Secular Conference (NSC) is an Indian political party from Kerala. P. T. A. Rahim is the state president of National Secular Conference (NSC). In early 2011 with the support of LDF, under the leadership of P. T. A. Rahim a new party, National Secular Conference (NSC) was formed to protect the rights of Dalits, religious minorities and other backward sections of people. Without long historical background, NSC flourished in different parts of Kerala by utilising its secular mottos. Jaleel Punalur is the state organising secretary of NSC. The party have roots in southern region of the state, with many members in Alappuzha, Kollam, and Trivandrum districts. [1]

It is one of the two major political alliances in Kerala, the other being Indian National Congress-led United Democratic Front, each of which has been in power alternately for the last four decades. LDF has won the elections to the State Legislature of Kerala in the years 1980, 1987, 1996, 2006, 2016 and had a historic re-election in 2021 where an incumbent government was re-elected for first time in 40 years. LDF has won 6 out of 10 elections since the formation of the alliance in 1980. The alliance consists of CPI(M), CPI and various smaller parties.

Communist Marxist Party (CMP) was a political party in Kerala. The party was founded in 1986 when M. V. Raghavan was expelled from the CPI(M) due to a grave difference of opinion regarding the formation of alliances with the IUML. His support for forming a united front with non-secular parties such as the Muslim League in order to take on alliances led by the INC was ultimately rejected by the CPI(M) leadership. He was subsequently expelled from the Party.

Solidarity Youth MovementKerala is the youth wing of the Islamic organisation Jamaat-e-Islami Hind in the state of Kerala in India. The movement's stated objective is to "liberate the generation of youths from moral bankruptcy and debauchery and to transform them into a radical vanguard fighting for the betterment of society". It, along with its parent organisation Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, has shared common ground with India's left-wing parties on issues related to Indo-US relations and globalisation. The organisation has brought to mainstream the issues concerned with the marginalized communities. Solidarity Youth Movement have also initiated legal battles against controversial legislations like NIA.

Kannoth Muraleedharan is an Indian National Congress (INC) politician from Kerala, the son of eminent congress leader K. Karunakaran. He was elected as member of the Lok Sabha thrice from the Kozhikode constituency, subsequently leaving the party in 2005. For a while he had joined NCP of Sharad Pawar. Then he rejoined Congress. He was elected as the Chairman of KPCC Campaign committee in September 2018. He entered 17th Lok Sabha by winning from the Vatakara in 2019 general elections.

Communism in India has existed as a social or political ideology as well as a political movement since at least as early as the 1920s.
