Welfare Party of India is an Indian Political party, Welfare Party of India to contest polls, striving for what it deems "value-based politics" in India. [1] Its first National President was Mujtaba Farooq, and other key leaders were Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas, Ilyas Azmi, Zafarul Islam Khan, Maulana Abdul Wahab Khilji and Lalita Naik. [2] It works across India with state and district level committees.

WPI was founded in 2011 under leadership of Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas in Delhi. [3]

Known branches

The Welfare Party of Kerala is the Kerala unit of the Welfare Party of India. It was launched on 19 October 2011 at Tagore Hall, Kozhikode. [4]

The organization argues for comprehensive land reform. Several struggles and seminars were organized by the landless people of Kerala. [5] [6]

It has a students' wing called Fraternity Movement. [7]

It, along with its parent organisation Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, has shared common ground with India's left-wing parties on issues related to Indo-US relations and globalisation. The organisation has brought to mainstream the issues concerned with the marginalized communities. Solidarity Youth Movement have also initiated legal battles against controversial legislations like NIA.

Kozhikode International Airport, also known as Calicut International Airport, is an international airport serving the city of Kozhikode in the state of Kerala, India. It also serves other cities and districts of the Malabar region, namely Malappuram, Wayanad and Palakkad. It is situated 28 km (17 mi) away from Kozhikode. The airport opened on 13 April 1988, and serves as an operating base for Air India Express and operates Hajj Pilgrimage services to Medina and Jeddah from Kerala. It is tied with Hyderabad in terms of international traffic. It received the international airport status on 2 February 2006. It is one of the few airports in the country with a tabletop runway.

First Pinarayi Vijayan ministry is the Council of Ministers headed by Pinarayi Vijayan that was formed after the Left Democratic Front (LDF) won the 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly elections. The Council assumed office on 25 May 2016. The ministry had a total of 19 ministers in the Cabinet at the time of swearing-in compared to 21 ministers in the previous government. Pinarayi Vijayan sworn in as 22nd Chief Minister of Kerala, 12th person to hold this position. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on 3 May 2021 submitted the resignation of the Council of Ministers headed by him to Governor Arif Mohammed Khan after winning a historic victory in the 15th legislative assembly elections by winning 99 of the 140 seats in the Assembly.

Umar Khalid is an Indian student activist, a former research scholar at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), former leader of Democratic Students' Union (DSU) in JNU. He was allegedly involved in the JNU sedition row and is an accused under the UAPA law for Delhi riots. Khalid is also associated with United Against Hate, a campaign founded along with Nadeem Khan in July 2017 in response to a series of lynchings.

Sahebzada Syed Mansoor Ali Tipu is a social worker and the national president of Tehrik-e-Khudadaad. Belonging to the family of the Tipu Sultan, former ruler of Mysore, he is a seventh generation descendant of Tipu Sultan. As a researcher, major part of his work is to keep the family legacy alive and provide factual information about the family history and Tipu Sultan. Mansoor regularly participates in political debates concerning Tipu's image and work for the welfare of various communities. He also works for the communal and regional peace in the southern and western part of India in the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Kerala. Syed Mansoor became a political figure when he demanded reservation for Muslim and Marathas, joining Sambha Ji Forces

Baithurahma (Malayalam: ബൈത്തു റഹ്മ, Arabic بیت الرحمة is a welfare scheme operating in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & Jharkhand. It is a housing project originally started by the IUML in Malappuram district to provide housing for poor people irrespective of community.
