The National Democratic Alliance is a centre-right to right-wing conservative Indian political alliance led by the right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). It was founded in 1998 and currently controls the government of India as well as the government of 17 Indian states and one Union territory.

Devappa Anna Shetti is an Indian Politician and former Member of Parliament of India from Hatkanangle constituency in the 16th Lok Sabha. He is the president of the Swabhimani Paksha, the political party which he founded in 2004, after separating from the Shetkari Sanghatana. He also founded Swabhimani Shetkari Saghtana.

The 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election was held on 21 October 2019 to elect all 288 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. After a 61.4% turnout in the election, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena (SHS) won a majority. Following differences over the government formation, the alliance was dissolved, precipitating a political crisis.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi or Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi or, abbreviated as MVA, is a state-level political coalition consists of 10 Political Parties Reformed after the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray of SHS (UBT), then Shiv Sena, Sharad Pawar of the NCP and Sonia Gandhi of the INC, along with the support from the Samajwadi Party, PWPI, CPI(M) and several other political parties including Independent MLAs. MVA is currently the official opposition in Maharashtra Legislature.
Gopichand Kundalik Padalkar is an Indian politician. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is a member of Maharashtra Legislative Council. He got elected to the Legislative Council by MLA's (unopposed) on 14 May 2020. Previously he was with the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, he started his political career with the Rashtriya Samaj Paksha. He rejoined BJP before the 2019 Maharashtra Legislative Elections. He is also a film maker and an actor.
The Bharatiya Janata Party contested the 2014 Maharashtra Legislative Assembly election independently on 260 seats after it broke up its 25 year old alliance with the Shiv Sena.
