Proper Dose is the fourth studio album by American pop punk band the Story So Far. It was released on September 21, 2018, via Pure Noise Records. [1] It is the band's last album with bassist Kelen Capener, who announced his departure in 2022.

Background

Proper Dose was recorded at The Panda Studios in Fremont, California, and The Farm Studios in Gibsons, British Columbia. Sam Pura served as produce and engineer with assistance from Tyler Shane Rodriquez, Karl Dicaire, and Ryan Ellery. The band's drummer Ryan Torf did additional engineering on the tracks. Eric Valentine mixed the recordings with assistance from Michael Carrey at Studio Topangadise in Topanga, California, before the album was mastered by Brian Gardner in Lake Arrowhead, California. Release

Prior to the album's release, two singles were released on August 20, 2018: "Upside Down" and "Take Me as You Please". [3] A music video for "Upside Down" was released on September 21. [4] Proper Dose sold 18,248 pure copies in its first week of release and debuted at number 19 on the Billboard 200 chart. [5] In April 2019, the band went on an Australian tour with Basement. [6]

Pure Noise Records is an American punk rock record label based in Nashville, Tennessee. It was founded by Jake Round in 2009 while he was an editor at AMP; the previous fall, friends of his in the band No Bragging Rights told him they were looking for a new label, and Round expressed interest in releasing the album himself. Prior to this Round had a short stint as an intern at Fat Wreck Chords. While the label began as a home operation, and had only put out five albums by the end of 2010, by 2014 some of the label's roster were main-stage acts at Warped Tour, and others had sold nearly 50,000 copies of their albums. Overall, the label's catalog had sold over 280,000 records as of March 2014. Among the label's signings are Vanna and Hit the Lights. In March 2017, Pure Noise Records partnered with Sony Music to create a new music label called Weekday Records.

"Tattooed in Reverse" is a song by American rock band Marilyn Manson. It was first released as the second track on the band's tenth studio album, Heaven Upside Down (2017). The song was released as an airplay-only promotional single in the United States on March 6, 2018, when it was serviced to active rock radio formats.
