The Replacements were an American rock band formed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1979. Initially a punk rock band, they are considered one of the pioneers of alternative rock. The band was composed of the guitarist and vocalist Paul Westerberg, guitarist Bob Stinson, bass guitarist Tommy Stinson and drummer Chris Mars for most of its career. Following several acclaimed albums, including Let It Be and Tim, Bob Stinson was kicked out of the band in 1986, and Slim Dunlap joined as lead guitarist. Steve Foley replaced Mars in 1990. Towards the end of the band's career, Westerberg exerted more control over the creative output. The group disbanded in 1991, with the members eventually pursuing various projects. A reunion was announced on October 3, 2012. The band is referred to by their nickname "The 'Mats" by fans, which originated as a truncation of "The Placemats," a mispronunciation of their name.
X is an American punk rock band, formed in Los Angeles, California, United States, in 1977. The original members are vocalist Exene Cervenka, vocalist-bassist John Doe, guitarist Billy Zoom and drummer D. J. Bonebrake. The band released seven studio albums from 1980 to 1993. After a period of inactivity during the mid- to late 1990s, X reunited in the early 2000s, and currently tours, as of 2019.
NOFX is an American punk rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1983. Vocalist/bassist Fat Mike, guitarist Eric Melvin and drummer Erik Sandin are original founding and longest-serving members of the band, who have appeared on every release of the band, although Sandin departed briefly in 1985, only to rejoin the following year. El Hefe joined the band in 1991 to play lead guitar and trumpet, rounding out the current line-up.
Ramones is the debut studio album by American punk rock band Ramones, released on April 23, 1976 by Sire Records. After Hit Parader editor Lisa Robinson saw the band at a gig in New York City, she wrote about them in an article and contacted Danny Fields, insisting that he be their manager. Fields agreed and convinced Craig Leon to produce Ramones, and the band recorded a demo for prospective record labels. Leon persuaded Sire president Seymour Stein to listen to the band perform, and he later offered the band a recording contract. The Ramones began recording in January 1976, needing only seven days and $6,400 to record the album. They used similar sound-output techniques to those of the Beatles and used advanced production methods by Leon.
Ska punk is a fusion genre that mixes ska music and punk rock music together. Ska-core is a subgenre of ska punk that mixes ska with hardcore punk. Early ska punk mixed both 2 Tone and ska with hardcore punk. Ska punk tends to feature brass instruments, especially horns such as trumpets, trombones and woodwind instruments like saxophones, making the genre distinct from other forms of punk rock. It is closely tied to third wave ska which reached its zenith in the mid 1990s.
Zen Arcade is the second studio album by American punk rock band Hüsker Dü, released in July 1984 on SST Records. Originally released as a double album on two vinyl LPs, Zen Arcade tells the story of a young boy who runs away from an unfulfilling home life, only to find the world outside is even worse. Zen Arcade and subsequent Hüsker Dü albums were instrumental in the creation of the alternative rock genre, and it is considered by some to be one of the greatest rock albums of all time.

Hüsker Dü was an American punk rock band formed in Saint Paul, Minnesota, in 1979. The band's continual members were guitarist/vocalist Bob Mould, bassist/vocalist Greg Norton, and drummer/vocalist Grant Hart. They first gained notability as a hardcore punk band, and later crossed into alternative rock. Mould and Hart were the band's principal songwriters, with Hart's higher-pitched vocals and Mould's baritone taking the lead in alternating songs.

Leave Home is the second studio album by American punk rock band the Ramones. It was released on January 10, 1977, through Sire Records, with the expanded CD being released through Rhino Entertainment on June 19, 2001. Songs on the album were written immediately after the band's first album's writing process, which demonstrated the band's progression. The album had a higher production value than their debut Ramones and featured faster tempos. The front photo was taken by Moshe Brakha and the back cover, which would become the band's logo, was designed by Arturo Vega. The album spawned three singles, but only one succeeded in charting. It was also promoted with several tour dates in the United States and Europe.

"Sheena Is a Punk Rocker" is a song by the punk rock group the Ramones. Written by Joey Ramone, it is one of the Ramones' most popular songs, evidence of Joey's early 1960s surf rock and bubblegum pop influences. It first appeared in May 1977 as a single in the UK where it charted at number 22 in the UK Singles Chart. In the US, it was released as a single in July 1977, and reached number 81 in the Billboard Hot 100, and appeared on copies of the second issue of the band's 1977 album Leave Home. The track, as well as its B-side "I Don't Care", was remixed and re-released for their third LP Rocket to Russia.

Punk Goes 90's is the fifth album in the Punk Goes... series and the first installment in the Punk Goes 90's series created by Fearless Records. It contains popular songs from the 1990s covered by various alternative rock bands. The cover art references Nirvana's iconic Nevermind cover, on which "In Bloom" originally appeared. As of 2017 there have been a total of two albums in the franchise.

Punk Goes Pop Volume 5 is the thirteenth compilation album in the Punk Goes... series created by Fearless Records and the fifth installment in the Punk Goes Pop series to contain bands covering mainstream pop music. It was released on November 6, 2012 through Fearless Records. The album debuted at number sixteen on the Billboard 200, selling more than 21,000 copies within its first week. The album spawned three singles to date. The first single off the album was Memphis May Fire's cover of Grenade by Bruno Mars, which was released on October 2, 2012. The album's second single off the album was Mayday Parade's cover of Somebody That I Used to Know by Gotye featuring New Zealand artist Kimbra, which also featured guest vocals by Vic Fuentes of the band Pierce The Veil, it sold more than 15,000 copies within the album's first week of release, debuting at numbers eighteen and nineteen on the Billboard Rock Songs and Heatseekers Songs charts, respectively., it was released on October 16, 2012. The third single off the album was SECRETS cover of Ass Back Home by Gym Class Heroes featuring English artist Neon Hitch, which was released on December 12, 2012.

The album contains mainstream pop songs covered by thirteen bands from the pop punk, post-hardcore, metalcore, and alternative rock scenes. It was released via Fearless on July 14, 2017.
Punk Goes Christmas: Deluxe Edition is the seventeenth album in the Punk Goes... series by created by Fearless. It is a re-release of the Punk Goes Christmas that was released back in 2013. It contains the same songs as the 2013 version with four bonus track added as well as a slightly different track listing layout. Punk Goes Christmas: Deluxe Edition is one of the few albums which contains both covers as well as original songs. It is not however the first Punk Goes... album to feature an original song though, back in 2000 on the first ever Punk Goes... album Punk Goes Metal the song "Why Rock?" which was cover by the punk band The Aquabats! was credited to the fictional band Leather Pyrate but was in fact an original by The Aquabats! themselves. The only other albums to contain original songs besides Punk Goes Metal are Punk Goes Acoustic and Punk Goes Acoustic 2 which contain all original songs done acoustically. This album was released on November 27, 2015 as a digital download on both Google Play and Apple Music as well as iTunes.
