The Buenos Aires Underground, locally known as Subte, is a rapid transit system that serves the area of the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The first section of this network opened in 1913, making it the 13th subway in the world and the first underground railway in Latin America, the Southern Hemisphere, and the Spanish-speaking world, with the Madrid Metro opening five years later, in 1919. As of 2023, Buenos Aires is the only Argentine city with a metro system.
Line A is the oldest line of the Buenos Aires Underground. Opened to the public on 1 December 1913, it was the first underground line in South America, the Southern Hemisphere and the Spanish-speaking world. It made Buenos Aires the 13th city in the world to have an underground transport service. The line stretches 9.8 km (6.1 mi) from Plaza de Mayo and San Pedrito and runs under the full length of the Avenida de Mayo and part of the Avenida Rivadavia, and is used by 258,000 people per day.

The Premetro is a 7.4-kilometer long (4.6 mi) light rail line that runs along the outskirts of Buenos Aires, connecting with the Buenos Aires Underground line E, at Plaza de los Virreyes station and then to General Savio, with a short branch to Centro Cívico. It opened in 1987 and is operated by Metrovías. Originally, the Premetro was to include many more lines, but shortly after the privatisation of the railways the projects were postponed and never materialised and only "Premetro E2" was built.
The Urquiza Line is a 26 km (16 mi) suburban electric commuter rail line in Buenos Aires, Argentina, operated by the former Buenos Aires Underground operator Metrovías. It runs from the Federico Lacroze terminus in the neighborhood of Chacarita, to General Lemos terminus in Campo de Mayo district of Greater Buenos Aires, completing a total journey time of 46 minutes. The line uses third rail current collection and, at present, is used by an average of 75,400 passengers daily. The line operates 20 hours a day, 7 days a week at 8 to 30 minute intervals. This suburban line runs on track once operated by General Urquiza Railway before railway privatisation.
Bulnes is a station on the Line D of the Buenos Aires Underground at the intersection of Avenida Santa Fe and Bulnes Street. The station was opened on 23 February 1940 as part of the extension of Line D from Tribunales to Palermo.
Federico Lacroze is an underground station on Line B of the Buenos Aires Underground named after the Argentine railway entrepreneur, located at the intersection of Corrientes and Federico Lacroze avenues in the Chacarita neighbourhood and near the La Chacarita Cemetery. The station was opened on 17 October 1930 as the western terminus of the extension of the line from Federico Lacroze to Callao.
Plaza Miserere is a station on Line A of the Buenos Aires Underground. The station is located between Alberti and Loria / Pasco stations on the A line underground. Plaza Miserere has interchange with Once underground station of the H line and connection to the Sarmiento line commuter rail service within Once railway station, the central station of the Domingo Faustino Sarmiento Railway.
Once - 30 de Diciembre is a station on Line H of the Buenos Aires Underground and is located at the intersection of Pueyrredón and Rivadavia avenues in the neighbourhood of Balvanera. From here, passengers may transfer to the Plaza Miserere station on line A and, through it, transfer to the Once railway station, the central terminal of the Domingo Faustino Sarmiento Railway and Sarmiento Line.
Plaza Italia station is part of the line D of the Buenos Aires Underground. It is located at the intersection of Avenida Santa Fe and the roundabout surrounding Plaza Italia in Palermo. The station was opened on 23 February 1940 as part of the extension of Line D from Tribunales to Palermo.
Sáenz Peña is a station on Line A of the Buenos Aires Underground. It is the last station of the line located under the Avenida de Mayo in the neighbourhood of Monserrat. The station belonged to the inaugural section of the Buenos Aires Underground opened on 1 December 1913, which linked the stations Plaza Miserere and Plaza de Mayo.
Lima is a station on Line A of the Buenos Aires Underground. Passengers may transfer from here to the Avenida de Mayo station on Line C and Metrobus 9 de Julio. The station belonged to the inaugural section of the Buenos Aires Underground opened on 1 December 1913, which linked the stations Plaza Miserere and Plaza de Mayo.
Carlos Gardel is a station on Line B of the Buenos Aires Underground.
Carlos Pellegrini is a station on Line B of the Buenos Aires Underground. From here, passengers may transfer to the Diagonal Norte Station on Line C and the 9 de Julio Station on Line D and Metrobus 9 de Julio. The station was opened on 22 July 1931 as the eastern terminus of the extension of the line from Callao. In December 1931, the line was extended further east to Leandro N. Alem.
Congreso de Tucumán is a station on Line D of the Buenos Aires Underground and is the current terminus. The station was opened on 27 April 2000 as the western terminus of the extension of the line from Juramento. It is located at the intersection of Cabildo and Congreso avenues. As of June 2015, the station connects to the Metrobus Cabildo bus rapid transit line that was opened that year. New underground passageways and station entrances were made for the station to provide easy transfer to the Metrobus line.
Corrientes Station is a station on Line H of the Buenos Aires Underground. The station was opened on 6 December 2010 as part of the one-station extension of the line from Once. It served as the line's north terminus until the extension of the line to Las Heras was completed on 18 December 2015. From here, passengers may transfer to the Pueyrredón Station on Line B.
The Buenos Aires Metrobús is a 50.5 km (31.4 mi) network of dedicated separated lanes and stations for buses that serve the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Designed as a Bus Rapid Transit system, it mixes a few bi-articulated buses with conventional buses. The headway is the same as before the implementation of the system, and the buses on the system use the same brand as the main network, that is, maintaining their previous branding as common bus lines with their own numbers. The service operates 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, with 2-4 minute frequencies during the day and 10–15 minutes at night.
The 200 Series is a set of underground cars manufactured by China CNR Corporation and CITIC Construction for use on Line A of the Buenos Aires Underground in Argentina. The cars replace the 100-year-old La Brugeoise cars which operated on the line up until 2013. The Buenos Aires Underground ordered 45 of these units, followed by a further 105 which have been put into service on the line.
