Qionglin Township [1] is a rural township in central Hsinchu County,Taiwan. Its population was estimated at 20,224 in March 2023. [2]
The township comprises 12 villages:Hualong,Qionglin,Shangshan,Shitan,Shuikeng,Wenlin,Wulong,Xiashan,Xinfeng,Xiuhu,Yongxing and Zhongkeng. [3]
Ta Hwa University of Science and Technology is a private university located in Shuikeng Village. It is also the largest educational institution in Qionglin. It was founded in 1967,and was originally called Dahua Agricultural College focusing around farming. In 1969,it became an industrial college. In 1991,it was changed to a business school. In 1997,it became a technical college. Finally,in 2012 it took on its current name. The school has 3 schools of engineering,electricity,business and tourism management. It also has 13 departments and 1 research institute. Plus 5 schools of Hakka culture,glass creativity,innovation cultivation,green energy industry,disaster prevention research center,and 3 education centers of general education,sports,and language. In 2003,the school had a total of 331 faculty members and 8,731 students. [4]
Qionglin's economy is primarily focused around agriculture. The main crop used is rice,alongside fruits like citrus and pears,and other vegetables like tomatoes.
Hsinchu is a city located in northwestern Taiwan. It is the most populous city in nominal Taiwan Province,not among the special municipalities,with estimated 450,655 inhabitants. Hsinchu is a coastal city bordering the Taiwan Strait to the west,Hsinchu County to the north and east,and Miaoli County to the south. Nicknamed the Windy City for its strong northeastern monsoon during the autumn and winter seasons.
Hsinchu County is a county administered as part of the nominal Taiwan Province of the Republic of China (ROC). Miaoli City is the capital of the county,and is also known as "Mountain Town",owing to the number of mountains nearby,making it a destination for hiking.
Zhubei is a city in Hsinchu County of the streamlined Taiwan Province,Republic of China. It is one of the fastest-growing settlements in Taiwan,with a population gain of 51,000 between 2010 and 2019,the highest of any township/city or district. The city has attracted migration both because of its proximity to Hsinchu City and the Hsinchu Science and Technology Park,and because the Hsinchu County government has focused most of its infrastructure here.
Zhunan Township is an urban township in northern Miaoli County,Taiwan. Its city centre forms a continuous urban area with Toufen.
National Experimental High School At Hsinchu Science Park,situated near the Hsinchu Science Park in Taiwan,is a public,coeducational school (pre-primary-12). Founded in August 1983,the school was proposed by the founder of the Science Park Kwoh-Ting Li. NEHS is administered by the Ministry of Education,National Science Council and the Science Park Administration. With the exception of the rigorous "Advanced Math and Science Class" of the Senior High School department,NEHS only admits children of employees of private enterprises in the Science Park,government organizations,the Industrial Technology Research Institute,National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University,and National Tsing Hua University. In 2009,the school adjusted qualification and number of enrollment in response to the national decline of birth rate and to late-2000s financial crisis.
Hukou Township is a rural township of Hsinchu County,Taiwan. With an area of 58.43 km2 (22.56 sq mi),it is the third largest township in the county. Hukou had an estimated population of 81,550 in February 2023.
Baoshan Township is a rural township in Hsinchu County,Taiwan. It is ostensibly a suburb of Hsinchu City to the north and west,and is also bounded by Zhudong City to the east,Beipu and Emei Towns to the south,and Miaoli County to the west.

Zhudong Township is an urban township in central Hsinchu County,Taiwan. Part of Hsinchu Science Park is in Zhudong. Also located in Zhudong is the main campus of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). Zhudong is approximately 20 minutes drive from Hsinchu town center on one of two freeways,route 3 North,which passes nearby and route 68 East which proceeds directly through Zhudong.

The Hsinchu Biomedical Science Park is an industrial park in Zhubei City,Hsinchu County,Taiwan which is part of the Hsinchu Science Park.
Hsinchu County electoral constituencies consist of 2 single-member constituencies,each represented by a member of the Republic of China Legislative Yuan. From the 2020 legislative election onwards,the number of Hsinchu County's seats was increased to 2 due to the county's increase in population,as it exceeded the 315,019 average for each constituency.
National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University is a public research university in Taiwan. It was created in 2021 through the merger of National Yang-Ming University and National Chiao Tung University. At present,there are 19 colleges,74 university/college level research centers,and 1 hospital in Yilan.
