Rahul Kumar Paswan (born 19 April 1998) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a forward for CFL Premier Division club Diamond Harbour FC.
In January 2022, East Bengal announced the signing Paswan for the remainder of the Indian Super League season. [1] He made his only appearance on 14 February, in a 1–0 loss against Kerala Blasters. [2] [3]
In June 2022, Paswan joined I-League club Mohammedan. [4] On 16 August, he made his debut for the club against Goa in the Durand Cup, which ended in a 3–1 comeback win. [5] [6] Eleven days later, he scored his first goal for the club against Indian Air Force, in a 2–0 win. Paswan executed a wonderful spot jump from a Marcus Joseph cross to nail a header into the back of the goal. [7] [8]

Mohammedan Sporting Club is an Indian multi-sports club based in Kolkata, West Bengal. The 2021 Durand Cup is the 130th edition of Durand Cup, the oldest football tournament in Asia. Like its previous edition, the tournament was hosted in West Bengal. The tournament is jointly hosted by the Eastern Command of the Indian Armed Forces and the Government of West Bengal.

The 2022 Durand Cup, also known as IndianOil Durand Cup due to sponsorship ties with Indian Oil Corporation, was the 131st edition of the Durand Cup, the oldest football tournament in Asia, and also the first edition since it was supported by the Asian Football Confederation. This year for the first time the tournament was played in more than one venue. The tournament is hosted by the Durand Football Tournament Society in co-operation with the AIFF, Eastern Command of the Indian Armed Forces and the Government of West Bengal, supported by the governments Assam and Manipur. This was the first season of the tournament wherein every club in the top tier Indian Super League has been mandated to participate, along with 5 selected clubs from the I-League, and the four teams representing the armed forces.
The 2022–23 season is the club's ninth season in Indian Super League since its establishment in 2014. In addition to the league, they will also compete in the 2022 Durand Cup and AIFF Super Cup.
The 2022 IndianOil Durand Cup group stage was played from 16 August to 5 September 2022. A total of 20 teams, consisting 11 ISL clubs, 5 I-League clubs and 4 Indian Armed Forces teams, competed in the group stage to decide the 8 places in the knockout stage.
