Rectoris longifinus is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Cyprinidae, the family which includes the carps, barbs. minnows and related fishes. This species is endemic to Yunnan in China. [1] This species was fisrt formally described) in 2002 from Zhoxi in Shilin County and said to be similar to R. posehensis , [2] however, other authors consider that this species is unlikely to be a member of the genus Rectoris and that it is generic placement awaits further study. [3]
Rasbora is a genus of fish in the family Cyprinidae. They are native to freshwater habitats in South and Southeast Asia, as well as southeast China. A single species, R. gerlachi, is only known from an old specimen that reputedly originated from Africa (Cameroon), but this locality is considered doubtful. They are small, up to 17 cm (6.7 in) long, although most species do not surpass 10 cm (4 in) and many have a dark horizontal stripe.
Schizothorax is a genus of cyprinid fish found in southern and western China, through northern South Asia (Himalaya) and Central Asia, to Iran, with a single species, S. prophylax, in Turkey. They are primarily found in highland rivers, streams and lakes, although a few species occur in lower-lying locations, like Lake Balkhash and lakes of the Sistan Basin. Their scientific name means "cloven-breast", from Ancient Greek schízeïn (σχίζειν) 'to cleave' and thórax (θώραξ) 'breast-plate'. The western species are typically referred to as marinkas from their Russian name marinka (маринка), while the eastern species are usually called snowtrout. Although they do resemble trouts in habitus this is merely due to convergent evolution and they are by no means closely related apart from both being Teleostei: Cyprinids are in the teleost superorder Ostariophysi, while trouts are in the superorder Protacanthopterygii. Their ancestors must thus have diverged as early as the Triassic, more than 200 million years ago.
Sinocyclocheilus is a genus of freshwater fish in the family Cyprinidae that is endemic to Guangxi, Guizhou and Yunnan in China. Almost all of its species live in or around caves and most of these have adaptions typical of cavefish such as a lack of scales, lack of pigmentation and reduced eyes. Several species have an unusual hunchbacked appearance and some of the cave-dwellers have a "horn" on the back, the function of which is unclear. In contrast, the Sinocyclocheilus species that live aboveground, as well as a few found underground, show no clear cavefish adaptions. They are relatively small fish reaching up to 23 cm (9.1 in) in length. The individual species have small ranges and populations, leading to the status of most of the evaluated species as threatened. Many species populations in the genus have yet to be evaluated by the IUCN.
Anabarilius is a genus of ray-finned fish in the family Cyprinidae, most of them only occurring in the area of China. Many of the species have very restricted geographic range and have been negatively impacted by introduced species, fishing, and habitat degradation; the IUCN Red List includes five Anabarilius species that are either endangered or critically endangered and one species that is considered extinct.
Typhlobarbus is a monospecific genus of freshwater, troglobitic ray-finned fish belonging to the family Cyprinidae, the carps, barbs and allied fishes. The only species in the genus is Typhlobarbus nudiventris, a species endemic to Jianshui County in Yunnan, China. Like other cavefish, it lacks pigmentation and its eyes are degenerated. It is the only species in its genus. It reaches up to about 4.6 cm (1.8 in) in standard length.
Neosalanx is a genus of icefishes native to Eastern Asia, ranging from Korea, through Japan and China, to Vietnam. They inhabit coastal marine waters, estuaries and river basins. There are both species that are threatened and species that are widespread.
Fuxian Lake is a body of water in Yunnan Province, China. It stretches through Chengjiang, Jiangchuan and Huaning Counties, spanning an area of 212 square kilometers. It is the third-largest lake in Yunnan, after Dian Lake and Erhai Lake, and the deepest, at 155 meters. It is the third-deepest fresh water lake in China, after Tianchi and Kanas Lake.
Anabarilius alburnops is a species of ray-finned fish in the genus Anabarilius. It is only known from Dian Lake and Songhuaba Reservoir, both in Kunming, Yunnan. It can reach sizes above 31 cm (12 in) SL.
Bangana is a genus of fish in the family Cyprinidae, the carps and minnows. It is distributed across much of southern and eastern Asia. Species live mainly in the flowing waters of tropical and subtropical rivers.
Protolabeo is a monospecific genus of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging ti the family Cyprinidae, the family which includes the carps, barbs, minnows and related fishes. The only species in the genus is Protolabeo protolabeo, which is endemic to the Yilihe River in Yunnan, China.

Rectoris longibarbus is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Cyprinidae, the family which includes the carps, barbs. minnows and related fishes. This species is known only from its type locality, a temporary spring emerging from a karst formation which dries up outside of the rainy season in Jingxi County, Guangxi. Rectoris posehensis, Paranemachilus jinxiensis, Prolixicheilus longisulcus and Cophecheilus bamen were also found in the spring. The area around the spring has been subjected to earthquakes and has been heavily mined, surveys conducted for this species at its type locality have not found any more. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has classified it as Critically Endangered.
Rectoris luxiensis is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish belonging to the family Cyprinidae, the family which includes the carps, barbs. minnows and related fishes. This species is endemic to China where it is found in the Yuan Jiang in Hunan, Qing Jiang in Hubei Province) and the Daninghe River in Sichuan. One study found that there were no discernible differences between the specimens of this species and the types of R. mutabilis suggested that R. mutabilis is s senior synonym of R, luxiensis. Eschmeyer's Catalog of Fishes, however, recognises both these taxa as valid species.
