Redhill [1] is a small rural village in the Telford and Wrekin borough in Shropshire, England. [2] It forms part of the St George's and Priorslee civil parish alongside Central Park, Priorslee, Snedshill and St George's. [3]

History

The village was historically a Roman settlement, before later being used as a settlement for trading points and residential. [4] During the Roman period, it was a strategic point near Watling Street. [5] It later became part of the wider Telford and Wrekin borough. It also lies close to the Staffordshire county border with Shropshire at Weston Park. Additional nearby towns include Shifnal and Newport. [6] [ failed verification ]

Present day

Redhill retains much of its rural character[ citation needed ] with small developments occurring to the west of the village in nearby St George's and Priorslee. [7]

In the eighteenth century industrial revolution Wrockwardine Wood was inhabited by coal and iron mine workers and their families. So many people had become Primitive Methodists that the Church of England set up a new parish in 1833 and built a very attractive red brick church, which is grade II listed.

Stirchley is a large village and suburb of Telford, in the borough of Telford and Wrekin and ceremonial county of Shropshire, England. Stirchley lies just south-east of the town centre, and shares a parish council with neighbouring Brookside, which together have a population of 10,533 according to the 2001 census data It is close to Dawley and Malinslee and located next to the southern side of Telford town park. Although formerly a farming parish, it was incorporated into the Telford New Town in the 1970s. There are some important heritage sites in the parish, notably St James Church, Stirchley Hall, Stirchley Grange and the Stirchley Chimney, now a local landmark. A number of Stirchley's heritage sites are waypoints on the South Telford Heritage Trail. The former school was removed brick-by-brick and rebuilt at the nearby Blists Hill Victorian Town museum in 1993.
