Reekita Nondine Shimu (Rikita Nandini Shimu) is a national award winning Bangladeshi actress, who acted in films of notable filmmakers including Tareque Masud, Rubaiyat Hossain and Aditya Vikram Sengupta. She received Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress and the Best Actress Award at Saint-Jean-de-Luz International Film Festival for her lead role in 2019 film Made in Bangladesh (Bangladeshi Title: Shimu). It premiered in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival, following the participation at BFI London Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival and other major festivals. Distributed by Pyramide Films, the film was widely released in France on 4 December 2019 and running for several months following the theatrical release worldwide including USA, Canada, Denmark, Portugal, Germany, China, Mexico, Singapore, Australia, Turkey, Bangladesh and Japan.

It is the first Bangladeshi surfing film. No Dorai literally means "not afraid" in Chittagonian dialect. It features Sunerah Binte Kamal and Sariful Razz in lead roles.

Raima Islam Shimu was a Bangladeshi actress, film producer and director. She who has starred in 24 films and numerous TV dramas since 1998. Shimu disappeared on 16 January 2022, and she was later murdered.
