Reflector is the debut album by Australian band Killing Heidi, released in 2000 by Roadshow Music. It won the 2000 ARIA Music Award for Best Rock Album.
The album was an enormous success, propelling the band to prominence and eventually spending seven weeks at No. 1 on the ARIA charts. It eventually went 5× Platinum in Australia (selling over 350,000 copies) and won the ARIA Award for Album of the Year at the ARIA Music Awards of 2000.[ citation needed ]
Upon its release in early 2000, Reflector became the fastest-selling album in Australian music history. Reflector spawned four hit singles: "Weir" (which peaked at No. 6 on the national charts in 1999), "Mascara" (the band's first No. 1 single), "Live Without It" (No. 5), and "Superman Supergirl" (No. 57)[ citation needed ]

Pocket Full of Kryptonite is the debut studio album by the American rock band Spin Doctors, released in August 1991. The album initially sold a respectable 60,000 copies in late 1991 due to its growing hardcore fanbase, before several radio stations started playing the single "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" in mid-1992. The combined strength of the single along with the follow-up "Two Princes" led to the album's peak at Nos. 1 and 3 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers and Billboard 200 albums charts, respectively. It is currently the band's best selling album, and was certified 5× Platinum by the RIAA.
Killing Heidi are an Australian rock band, formed in Violet Town, Victoria in 1996, initially as a folk-pop duo by siblings Ella and Jesse Hooper. The band has released three studio albums: Reflector, which reached No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart, Present and Killing Heidi. Their top 20 singles are "Weir", "Mascara", "Live Without It", "Outside of Me" and "I Am". At the ARIA Music Awards of 2000 they were nominated in seven categories and won four trophies: Album of the Year, Best Group, Breakthrough Artist – Album and Best Rock Album for Reflector. At the APRA Music Awards of 2001 Ella and Jesse Hooper won Songwriter of the Year. The group disbanded in 2006, with Ella and Jesse taking a lower profile with an acoustic folk duo, The Verses. In 2016, it was announced that the band would be reforming to celebrate its 20th anniversary, and the band have continued to tour since.
Forgiven, Not Forgotten is the debut studio album by Irish pop rock group the Corrs. It was released by Atlantic Records on 26 September 1995 across the world. The album was primarily produced by David Foster, with additional production by Jim Corr. In January 1997, a special tour edition of the album was released in Australia and New Zealand and featured a bonus disc containing live and rare tracks which were recorded from their Forgiven, Not Forgotten World Tour.
The Corrs Unplugged is the third album by Irish band The Corrs, filmed and released in the fall of 1999. The album is part of the iconic MTV Unplugged series, which features musicians performing in a more acoustic, “stripped-down” concert setting. Initially, the album was released internationally, albeit not in the United States until a year later, after the band had experienced further success with their single “Breathless” and their fourth album In Blue, with both releases earning them their highest chart positions to-date in the US.

Present is the second studio album by the Australian band Killing Heidi, released in Australia on 25 October 2002, which peaked at No. 12 on the ARIA Albums Chart. It was produced by Paul Kosky, Chris Robinson and Andy Baldwyn, and followed from the group's debut album, Reflector.
Killing Heidi is the third album by Australian rock band Killing Heidi, released by Columbia Records in Australia on 30 August 2004. It was the band's first album without their producer Paul Kosky—who worked on their previous albums and has a more "sophisticated and grittier" feel to it with the lead singer, Ella Hooper, stating that releasing the album is "just like a re-launch". Killing Heidi debuted in the top ten on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart, making it their second top ten album and sales were similar to those of Killing Heidi's second album, Present (2002) – both were certified gold by ARIA for 35,000 units shipped. Their third album gave Killing Heidi another top twenty single with "I Am", but its second single, "Calm Down" was not a major hit.
Echolalia is the third studio album by Australian alternative rock band Something for Kate which was released on 22 June 2001. It peaked at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart, was voted the Best Album of 2001 by Triple J listeners and earned the band six ARIA Music Award nominations for Album of the Year, Best Adult Alternative Album, Single of the Year ("Monsters"), Best Group, Best Cover Art and Best Video ("Monsters"). It was issued in the United States and a limited edition US included a second disc titled "Past and Present Tension". The second disc included past songs and singles, as well as some live versions of their older songs. In October 2010, Echolalia was listed in the top 40 in the book, 100 Best Australian Albums.
The Best of The Doors is a compilation album by the Doors released in 2000, and is different from the albums of the same name released in 1973 and 1985. All three albums feature a slightly different track listing and a different photograph of the band's late singer Jim Morrison as cover art. Unlike its predecessors, the 2000 release includes both "Break On Through " and "The End" in their uncensored form.
The 15th Annual Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards were held on 30 October 2001 at the Capitol Theatre. Rock band Powderfinger won the most awards with six from eight nominations. Leading the nominations were dance, electronic group, The Avalanches, with nine nominations: they won four.
"Mascara" is the second single released by Australian rock band Killing Heidi from their debut album, Reflector (2000). It was released on 11 October 1999, when their debut single, "Weir", was still on the Australian Singles Chart. The re-release of the "Mascara" single was issued with "Leave Me Alone" as a double A-side; it was this version that topped the Australian chart, becoming Killing Heidi's only number-one hit in their native country. "Mascara" was later released in the United States. In January 2018, as part of Triple M's "Ozzest 100", the 'most Australian' songs of all time, "Mascara" was ranked number 90.

The 14th Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards was held on 24 October 2000 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. Presenters distributed 28 awards with the big winners for the year being Killing Heidi and Madison Avenue, each with four trophies. In addition to the annually presented awards, a "Special Achievement Award" was given to Daryl Somers; an "Outstanding Achievement Award" was received by Slim Dusty and another presented to Tina Arena. There were no ARIA Hall of Fame inductees.
Down the Way is the second studio album by Australian singer-songwriter duo Angus & Julia Stone. It was released on 12 March 2010 in Australia through EMI Music Australia and debuted at number 1 on the ARIA Charts.
Jesse Hooper is an Australian musician, singer-songwriter, producer and community developer. Hooper founded the band Killing Heidi together with his sister Ella Hooper in 1996. The band received critical acclaim and had hits with singles "Mascara", "Live Without It" and "Weir". Killing Heidi broke up in 2006 but Jesse and Ella continued to make music together with new band The Verses, formed in 2009.
