Resist Veneto (Italian : Resistere Veneto; abbr. RV) is a populist political party in Veneto, Italy, founded by Riccardo Szumski, a physician struck off the national register, due to his positions regarding vaccines. [1] [2]
The list Resist Veneto was founded in June 2025 to run in the upcoming regional election in November. The party candidated also members of Vita and Venetian Independence. [3] Szumski's list surprisingly gained 4.96% of votes, electing two councillors. RV became the strongest list mainly in the northern part of the Province of Treviso, notably receiving 14.18% in Conegliano and 13.75% in Vittorio Veneto; in addition, Szumski won with 43.15% of the vote in his former fiefdom, Santa Lucia di Piave, where he served as mayor between 1994 and 2002 and again from 2012 to 2022, besting the president-elect Alberto Stefani by six points there.
