Rich Gang:Tha Tour Pt. 1 is a mixtape by Birdman,Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan,as the group Rich Gang. It was released on September 29,2014,by Cash Money Records. The mixtape features the productions from London on da Track,Issac Flame and Goose,among others and it features guest appearances from Nipsey Hussle,PeeWee Longway,Jacquees,Yung Ralph,Bloody Jay,MPA Duke and MPA Wicced. The mixtape was supported by seven promotional singles;including "Tell Em (Lies)","Imma Ride","Freestyle","Soldier","Milk Marie","Flava" and "Givenchy".
On March 11,2014,American rappers Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan announced a joint EP to be released in the near future. Rich Homie Quan described it as "best collabo since OutKast." [1] On September 23,2014,Birdman described Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan's collaboration during an interview with MTV News,saying "They were already working on a project,them two,and I said,'Let's do it together. Let me take it to the next level for y'all,'cause I see y'all got the potential and the talent.' I just thought by them being together,it would be a stronger impact and then they still can do their solo things." [2]
On September 29,2014,videos for the first and second promotional singles "Tell Em (Lies)" and "Imma Ride" were released ahead of the mixtape. [3] On October 17,2014,videos for "Freestyle" and "Soldier”were released as the third and fourth promotional singles. On October 27,2014,Rich Gang premiered the video for the fifth promotional single,"Milk Marie",on 106 &Park. "Flava" and "Givenchy" were subsequently announced as promotional singles.

The mixtape received contemporaneous acclaim from music critics. Complex described Tha Tour as "one of the year's best full-length records full stop,a consistently impactful rap record destined to be an indelible artifact of 2014". [4] HipHopDX called it "a trap-love-fest that hypnotizes you for its entirety". [6] Rolling Stone called it a "ridiculously fun mixtape" and described Young Thug as "stretch[ing] his voice like pure nonsense in wheezy,joyful yelps",and Quan's contributions as "cold-soul verses and hooks to give the tape weight and substance". [8] Complex also praised the production on the tape,emphasizing the contributions of London on da Track,saying that he "works a sparse atmosphere of smooth,softened pianos and empty space". [4] Exclaim! praised it as the best rap mixtape of 2014. [5] On Stereogum 's Best Albums of 2014,Tha Tour was listed at #21. [11]
The mixtape ranked among the best albums of the 2010s in many publications' decade-end lists. It was ranked 2nd by Noisey,89th by Stereogum and 97th by Rolling Stone. [12] [13] [14]
The mixtape has developed a legacy for the chemistry between Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan,as well as its blueprint for Atlanta trap music. In 2018,Tom Breihan of Stereogum labelled Rich Gang:Tha Tour Pt. 1 as "a classic of 2010s rap music". [15]

Cash Money Records is an American record label founded in 1991 by brothers Ronald "Slim" Williams and Bryan "Baby" Williams. In its early years, Cash Money Records released albums for Juvenile, B.G., and Hot Boys. Distributed by Republic Records, the label has since been home to a roster of mostly hip hop artists, including Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga. Bryan Christopher Williams, better known by his stage names Birdman or Baby, is an American rapper and record executive. He is the co-founder and public face of Cash Money Records, which he co-founded with his older brother Ronald "Slim" Williams in 1992. Birdman released his eponymous debut album in 2002, and has released four studio albums—Fast Money (2005), 5 * Stunna (2007), and Priceless (2009)—to moderate commercial success despite mixed critical reception; in 2020, he announced the latter as his final. Beginning his career in 2011, Lamar rose to mainstream success with his 2013 single "Type of Way", which peaked at number 50 on the Billboard Hot 100. A 2015 follow up single, "Flex " reached further success at number 26 on the chart. In addition, Lamar was a member of the Cash Money Records spin-off project Rich Gang in 2014, which found success with their single "Lifestyle" in June of that year, preceding the mixtape Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1 (2014). Lamar's debut studio album, Rich as in Spirit was released in March 2018 and debuted at number 32 on the US Billboard 200.

Jeffery Lamar Williams, known professionally as Young Thug, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Known for his eccentric vocal style and fashion, he is considered an influential figure in modern hip hop and trap music, and a pioneer of the mumble rap microgenre. Williams embarked on a musical career in 2011, releasing a series of mixtapes beginning with I Came from Nothing. In 2013, he signed with fellow Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane's 1017 Records and gained further attention and praise for his debut mixtape with the label, 1017 Thug, released in February of that year.

Bankroll Mafia is an American hip hop collective from Atlanta, Georgia. The collective was formed in 2015, after southern rappers T.I., Young Thug and Shad da God began frequently working together. Other Atlanta-based rappers also joined the collective, including Label No Genre’s London Jae, and Young Thug's close affiliates Peewee Roscoe and Lil Duke. In an interview with Billboard, T.I. described the group's dynamic as "a collective that includes a lot of personal and professional constituents throughout the industry, in and out of our elements." The collective released their self-titled debut album in April 2016.
