Robert Howard (born July 8, 1996) is an American former competitive swimmer who specialized in the sprint freestyle events. He represented the DC Trident in the International Swimming League. [3]
Robert Howard was born July 8, 1996, in Alexander City, Alabama, as the son of Scott and Beverly and Bob Howard. [4] Howard attended Benjamin Russell High School and swam for Auburn Aquatics. He was a two-time USA Scholastic All-American in 2013 and 2014 and swam collegiately at The University of Alabama from 2015 to 2019.
As a freshman for the Tide, Howard placed 12th in the 100-yard freestyle (43.78), 15th in the 50-yard freestyle (19.90) and 30th in the 200-yard freestyle (1.37.74) at the 2016 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Championships. He was also a member of the 3rd place 400-yard freestyle relay. [5] At the 2016 Men's NCAA Division I Championships, Howard contributed to the sixth place 400-yard freestyle relay.
At the 2017 SEC Championships, he improved his rankings finishing seventh in the 100-yard freestyle (42.96), ninth in the 50-yard freestyle (19.52), and 17th in the 200-yard freestyle (1:35.17). [6] [7] Howard was also part of three relay teams: the runner-up 400-yard, third place 200-yard, and fifth place 800-yard freestyle. As a sophomore at the 2017 Men's NCAA Division I Championships, he was part of the 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relays which finished fifth and ninth, as well as of the 22nd place 800-yard freestyle relay. Howard had a breakthrough season during his junior year by placing third in the 50-yard freestyle (19.14), fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (42.58) and ninth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:34.61) at the 2018 SEC Championships. [9] At the 2018 Men's NCAA Division I Championships, he finished seventh in the 50-yard freestyle (19.09), 10th in the 100-yard freestyle (41.81), and 23rd in the 200-yard freestyle (1:34.42). Howard also contributed to the seventh place 400-yard freestyle relay, ninth place 200-yard medley relay, 10th place 200-yard freestyle relay and 11th place 400-yard medley relay teams.
During his last season at Alabama, Howard had his highest finishes at both SEC and NCAA Championships. He gained the victory in both the 50 (18.74) and 100-yard freestyle (41.57), and placed fourth in the 200 freestyle (1:32.76) at the 2019 SEC Championships. He was also part of the first place 200-yard medley and freestyle relays, both setting conference and pool records, and contributed to the runner-up 400-yard medley relay team. He finished his college career placing third in the 50-yard freestyle (18.80), fifth in the 100-yard freestyle (41.75) and 19th in the 200-yard freestyle (1:33.37) at the 2019 Men's NCAA Division I Championships. [10] Howard was also a member of the NCAA champion 200-yard medley relay team which set a pool record, the sixth place 200-yard freestyle relay as well as of the ninth place 400-yard medley and freestyle relays.
At the 2018 USA Swimming Championships in Irvine, California Howard placed eighth in the 50m freestyle with a new best time of 22.17 (22.18 in finals) and 11th in the 100m freestyle with a 48.67. [11] His performance gave him a spot on the 2019 World University Games roster. [12]
At the 2019 World University Games in Napoli, Italy, he won a gold medal as part of the 4x100m freestyle relay. [13]
Howard was a member of the inaugural International Swimming League (ISL) representing DC Trident. [14] He competed at the first two matches held in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Naples, Italy, respectively.
The NCAA Women's Division I Swimming and Diving Championships is an annual college championship in the United States. The meet is typically held on the second-to-last weekend (Thursday-Saturday) in March, and consists of individual and relay events for female swimmers and divers at Division I schools.
Mallory Comerford is an American competitive swimmer specializing in freestyle events. Comerford was the winner of five gold medals at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. She won USA Swimming's Golden Goggle Award for Breakout Performer of the Year for 2017. The following year, Comerford won eight medals in individual and relay events at the 2018 World Swimming Championships.

Zachary "Zach" Douglas Apple is a retired American competitive swimmer who specialized in the sprint freestyle events. He used to swim for DC Trident in the International Swimming League. He won his first Olympic gold medal in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics, swimming in the prelims and the final of the event, and later in the same Olympic Games won a gold medal and helped set a new world record and Olympic record in the 4x100-meter medley relay, swimming the freestyle leg of the relay in the final.
Zach Harting is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in the butterfly and freestyle events. He currently represents the DC Trident which is part of the International Swimming League. He competed in the men's 200 metre butterfly at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships. In 2021, he qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics in the 200m Butterfly.

Alexandra Walsh is an American competitive swimmer. She is known for her versatility in all four strokes that has allowed her to have success in medley events. Growing up, Walsh was a phenom who started setting national age group records starting at 12 in 2014. She led her high school team to multiple state and national championships. At the 2019 Pan American Games, she won three gold medals.
Ryan Hoffer is an American competitive swimmer who specializes in freestyle and butterfly events. He competes as part of the International Swimming League for the team DC Trident. Hoffer is currently the national age group record holder in the 100 yard freestyle for the boys 17-18 year old age group. He won two silver medals at the 2015 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships in relay events.
Kieran Smith is an American swimmer specializing in freestyle and individual medley events. He currently co-holds short course world records in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay and the 4×100-meter medley relay. At the 2020 Olympics, White also became the first Utah-born swimmer to compete in an Olympic Games. At the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, she was the only swimmer representing the United States to win a medal. At the 2024 World Championships, she won five medals, including two golds.
Brooks Vaughn Curry is an American competitive swimmer. He is an Olympian and a gold medalist in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay at the 2020 Summer Olympics. At the 2022 NCAA Championships, he won the NCAA title in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle. Ellen Walshe is an Irish swimmer. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in the 100 metre butterfly and the 200 metre individual medley. At the 2021 World Swimming Championships, she won the silver medal in the 400 metre individual medley. She was the first swimmer representing Ireland to win a medal higher than a bronze medal at a World Swimming Championships. Collegiately, she competes for the Tennessee Volunteers.
Gretchen Walsh is a competitive American swimmer. She holds two world junior records in mixed gender relay events as well as American records in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard freestyle, 100 yard butterfly, 100 yard backstroke, 4×50 yard freestyle relay, 4×50 yard medley relay, 4×100 yard freestyle relay, and 4×100 yard medley relay. In 2022, she became the fastest female freshman to swim the 50 yard freestyle in the NCAA, with a time of 20.95 seconds, and earned the NCAA title in the 100 yard freestyle, with a time of 46.05 seconds, and the national title in the 100 meter butterfly. In 2023, she won the women's NCAA Division I title in the 100 yard backstroke, with an American record time of 48.26 seconds, and the 100 yard freestyle, with a 45.61. She won six gold medals at the 2019 World Junior Championships as well as five gold medals and one silver medal at the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships. She competes collegiately for the University of Virginia.
Dean Farris is an American former swimmer. From 2019 until 2024 he was the American record holder in the 200 yard freestyle. He won the 2019 NCAA Division I Championships titles in the 100 yard backstroke and 100 yard freestyle. At the 2019 World University Games he won two gold medals, one in the 4×100 meter freestyle relay and one in the 4×200 meter freestyle relay.

In the 100 metre breaststroke, she won the gold medal at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics and silver medals at the European Junior Swimming Championships in 2018 and 2019.
