Peter Jeffrey Marshall (born March 9, 1982) is an American competition swimmer who specializes in the backstroke. He is a former world record holder in the 50-meter backstroke (short course) and the 100-meter backstroke (short course).
Over his career Peter Marshall has broken eight world records (4×100-meter medley relay 2002,[1] 100-meter backstroke 2004,[2] 100-meter backstroke 2008,[2] 50-meter backstroke 2008,[3] 100-meter backstroke 2008,[2] 50-meter backstroke 2009,[3] 50-meter backstroke 2009,[3] 50-meter backstroke 2009[3][4]) and won two world titles (4×100-meter medley relay scm 2002,[1] and 50 Backstroke scm 2008[5]). He currently holds the US Open record and NCAA record in the 100-meter backstroke (short course meters), and was a part of the American team that set the world record in the 4×100-meter medley relay (now surpassed). He is a two-time National A team member (2001, 2004), a three-time National B team member (2002, 2005, 2006) and a six-time NCAA All-American. He earned his first national championship in the 100-meter backstroke in the summer of 2001 in Clovis, California. While at Stanford University, he won three consecutive Individual NCAA Titles in the 100-meter backstroke. In 2004 he was named Pac-10 Swimmer of the Year for his first individual world record set at the NCAA Championships in Long Island, New York.
Marshall began his swimming career at the Dynamo Swim Club, one of the premier swim groups in America. He is a graduate of Marist School in Atlanta, Georgia (2000) and Stanford University (2004). He has one older sister (Heather) and two younger brothers (John and Gary). His cousin, Gary Marshall, also swam for Stanford after transferring from the University of Virginia.

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she earned a bronze medal in the 4×100-meter freestyle relay.
Maritza Correia, also known by her married name Maritza McClendon, is a former Olympic swimmer from Puerto Rico who swam representing the United States. When she qualified for the U.S. Olympic team in 2004, she became the first Puerto Rican of African descent to be a member of the U.S. Olympic swimming team. She was the first female African-American swimmer for the United States to win an Olympic medal. She also became the first black American swimmer to set an American and world swimming record.

Ryan Steven Lochte is an American professional swimmer and 12-time Olympic medalist. Along with Natalie Coughlin, Dara Torres, and Jenny Thompson, he is the second-most decorated swimmer in Olympic history measured by total number of medals, behind only Michael Phelps. Lochte's seven individual Olympic medals rank second in history in men's swimming, tied for second among all Olympic swimmers. He currently holds the world records in the 200-meter individual medley. Richard John Carey is an American former competition swimmer, three-time Olympic champion, and former world record-holder in three events. Carey specialized in the backstroke. At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, he won three gold medals. He broke nine world records, five individually, and also was a double world champion. He was named as the Swimmer of the Year in 1983 by Swimming World magazine.

Thoman has won a total of ten medals in major international competition, four gold, three silver, and three bronze spanning the Olympics, World Championships, Pan Pacific Championships, Pan American Games, and the Summer Universiade. He was a member of the 2012 U.S. Olympic team, and won gold and silver medals at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Haley Cope, also known by her married name Haley Clark, is an American former competition swimmer, Olympic medalist, and former world record-holder. She won a silver medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics, eight world championship medals, and held a world record in the 50-meter backstroke.

She won a record eight gold medals at the 2018 World Championships, becoming the first swimmer, male or female, to win eight or more gold medals in a single FINA World Swimming Championships or FINA World Aquatics Championships. Smoliga is the current American record-holder in the 50-meter backstroke. She is also the current Guinness World Record holder for "most gold medals won at a single FINA World Championships" by an individual swimmer. At the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro, she won a gold medal for swimming the backstroke leg in the preliminary heat of the 4x100-meter medley relay.
Cody William Miller is an American competitive swimmer. He is a former world record holder in both the men's 4×50 meter freestyle relay and the mixed 4×50 meter freestyle relay as well as a former American record holder in the long course 100 meter breaststroke and short course 50 meter, 100 meter, and 200 meter breaststroke events. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, he won a bronze medal in the 100 meter breaststroke and a gold medal in the 4×100 meter medley relay, swimming the breaststroke leg of the relay in the final to help achieve a new Olympic record. In 2019, he won the silver medal in the 100 meter breaststroke at the year's Pan American Games. He competes representing DC Trident in the International Swimming League.

Claire Curzan is an American competitive swimmer and Olympian. Specialising in multiple events, she earned an Olympic silver medal in the 4×100 meter medley relay in the 2020 Summer Olympics by swimming the preliminary butterfly leg. She holds junior world records in the long course 50 meter freestyle and 100 meter butterfly and the short course 50 meter butterfly and 100 meter butterfly. She also holds American records in the short course 50 meter backstroke and 50 meter butterfly, and formerly held the American record in the 100 yard butterfly. She currently swims for the Virginia Cavaliers.
