Rutgers University,officially Rutgers,The State University of New Jersey,is a public land-grant research university consisting of four campuses in the state of New Jersey. Chartered in 1766,Rutgers was originally called Queen's College,affiliated with the Dutch Reformed Church. It is the eighth-oldest college in the United States,the second-oldest in New Jersey,and one of the nine U.S. colonial colleges that were chartered before the American Revolution. In 1825,Queen's College was renamed Rutgers College in honor of Colonel Henry Rutgers,whose substantial gift to the school had stabilized its finances during a period of uncertainty. For most of its existence,Rutgers was a private liberal arts college but it has evolved into a coeducational public research university after being designated The State University of New Jersey by the New Jersey Legislature via laws enacted in 1945 and 1956.

Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) is a public community college with two campuses New Jersey,one in Sewell and one in Vineland and Millville. The college was established in 1966 as Gloucester County College. In 2014 the college changed its name to Rowan College of Gloucester County when Rowan University and Gloucester County College entered into a partnership. The college then expanded in 2019,combining Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) and Cumberland County College to become Rowan College of South Jersey. The college now offers conditional dual enrollment with Rowan University depending on GPA. While then GCC took the Rowan name,the community college maintains its independence with its own Board of Trustees and administration.
The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy of Rutgers University serves as a center for the theory and practice of urban planning and public policy scholarship. The school is located in New Brunswick,New Jersey,and was named in honor of the former Rutgers University president,Edward J. Bloustein. Through its academic programs and research centers,the Bloustein School engages in instruction and research,and combines learning and application. The school's strengths and the specializations of its faculty are vast and many of its faculty members are the founders of theories or practices that are now commonplace in urban planning and policy. Areas of expertise for Bloustein faculty members include transportation planning and the environment,while others have specialties in policy. In 2018,a year long search for a new dean ended when Piyushimita (Vonu) Thakuriah was announced as dean. Dr. Thakuriah's experience in both transportation and data science and the launch of a new graduate degree in Public Informatics signal the schools readiness top tackle the increasing pace of government innovation in the 21st century.

Busch Campus is one of the five sub-campuses at Rutgers University's New Brunswick/Piscataway area campus,and is located entirely within Piscataway,New Jersey,US. Academic facilities and departments centered on this campus are primarily those related to the natural sciences:physics,pharmacy,engineering,psychology,mathematics and statistics,chemistry,geology,and biology. The Rutgers Medical School was also built on this campus in 1970,but a year later was separated by the state,renamed the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School,and merge with the New Jersey Medical School and other health profession schools in Newark and New Brunswick to create the College of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Rutgers and the medical school continued to share the land and facilities on the campus in a slightly irregular arrangement. On July 1,2013,Robert Wood Johnson Medical School was officially merged back into Rutgers University,along with most of the other schools of UMDNJ,with the exception of the UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center (PMC),formerly known as the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro,is a 355-bed non-profit,tertiary,and academic medical center located in Plainsboro Township,New Jersey,servicing the western New Jersey area and the Central Jersey area. Kyle J. Flood is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach for the Texas Longhorns football team. He is also the former head football coach of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Flood was named the 29th head football coach of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team after Greg Schiano accepted the National Football League head coaching position for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He is the first Rutgers football head coach to be promoted from assistant since the 1973 season. Flood is a graduate of Iona College and earned four varsity letters for the Gaels between 1989 and 1992.
