Roman Fosti (born 6 June 1983) is an Estonian long-distance runner who specialises in the marathon. [2] He competed at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing finishing 20th, the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro finishing 61st, and the 2017 World Championships in London finishing 53rd. He previously competed mostly in middle-distance events switching to the marathon in 2013. [1]

Sifan Hassan is a Dutch middle- and long-distance runner. She is most recognized for her versatility in running championship and world-leading performances in widely disparate distances. Hassan is the only athlete in Olympic history to win medals across a middle-distance event and both long-distance races in a single Games. Bashir Abdi is a Belgian long-distance runner. He won bronze medals in the marathon at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 2022 World Championships and silver at the 2024 Summer Olympics. In doing so, Abdi became both the first ever Belgian world championship medal winner at the marathon and the first Belgian male athlete to win an individual medal at both the Olympic Games and World Athletics Championships. He claimed silver in the 10,000 metres at the 2018 European Championships. He finished second and third at the 2020 Tokyo Marathon and 2022 London Marathon respectively. Abdi is the European record holder for the marathon.

Kenji Takao is a Japanese running coach and former long-distance runner who competed mainly in the 10,000 metres. His personal best for the distance was 27:56.05 minutes, set in 1995. He was the 1998 Asian Games champion in the 10,000 m.

Justin Gloden is a Luxembourgish athlete competing in the long-distance events. He represented his country in the marathon at the 1988 Summer Olympics finishing 36th out of 118 competitors. He also competed at the 1983 and 1987 World Championships.

Carlos Martín Díaz del Río is a Chilean middle and long-distance runner. He holds the Chilean national record for the indoor and outdoor 1500 metres, the indoor 3000 metres, the 10,000 metres, the half marathon and the marathon. He was the gold medallist in the event at the South American Championships in Athletics in 2015.
