Roxanne Pierce (born October 14, 1954) is an American gymnast. She competed in six events at the 1972 Summer Olympics. [1]

The USA Basketball Men's National Team, commonly known as Team USA and the United States men's national basketball team, is the basketball team representing the United States. It is the most successful team in international competition, winning medals in all twenty Olympic tournaments it has entered, including seventeen golds. In the professional era, the team has won the Olympic gold medal in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2008, 2012, 2016, 2020, and 2024. Two of its gold medal-winning teams were inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in August 2010: the 1960 team, which featured six Hall of Famers, and the 1992 "Dream Team", featuring 14 Hall of Famers. The team is currently ranked first in the FIBA World Rankings.
The 1960 Winter Olympics were a winter multi-sport event held from February 18 to 28, 1960, at the Squaw Valley Resort in Squaw Valley, California, United States. The resort was chosen to host the Games at the 1956 meeting of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Squaw Valley was an undeveloped resort in 1955, so the infrastructure and all of the venues were built between 1956 and 1960 at a cost of US$80,000,000. The layout was designed to be intimate, allowing spectators and competitors to reach most of the venues on foot.
Jacqueline Joyner-Kersee is a retired American track and field athlete who competed in both the heptathlon and long jump. She won three gold, one silver, and two bronze Olympic medals at four different Olympic Games. Joyner-Kersee was also a four-time gold medalist at the world championships. Since 1988, she has held the world record for heptathlon.
Dara Grace Torres is an American former competitive swimmer, who is a 12-time Olympic medalist and former world record-holder in three events. Torres is the first swimmer to represent the United States in five Olympic Games, and at age 41, the oldest swimmer to earn a place on the U.S. Olympic team. At the 2008 Summer Olympics, she competed in the 50-meter freestyle, 4×100-meter medley relay, and 4×100-meter freestyle relay, and won silver medals in all three events.

The United States women's national water polo team represents the United States in international women's water polo competitions and friendly matches. It is one of the leading teams in the world since the late 1990s. Women's water polo has been on the international stage since 1978 and was an exhibition sport at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics coached by Sandy Nitta before being introduced as a full medal sport in 2000.

Stanislav Alekseyevich Pozdnyakov is a Russian former fencer, five-time Olympian (1992–2008), and five-time Olympic medalist in individual and team sabre competitions who is currently serving as president of the Russian Olympic Committee. He is also a ten-time individual and team world champion, in 1994–2007. In 2022, he was removed from his position as European Fencing Confederation (EFC) president at an Extraordinary Congress following a unanimous vote of no confidence in Pozdnyakov, due to his conduct in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Naseer Ahmed Bunda was a field hockey player from Pakistan. He was born in Rawalpindi. Naseer Bunda was one of ten brothers and one sister. Two of his brothers died in infancy. Naseer's parents decided to have his ear pierced if he survived, that's how he got his name "Bunda". Naseer Ahmed Awan was from the Awan tribe of Fateh Jang but eventually settled in Rawalpindi.
Joanne Marie Kiesanowski is a New Zealand cyclist, who won the silver medal in the women's scratch race at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She is married to Jeff Pierce, a former professional cyclist.
Jaclyn Briggs is an American field hockey player. She was born in Reading, PA and graduated from Conrad Weiser High School in 2006. She went on to attend the University of North Carolina where she helped lead the team to two NCAA national championships. Briggs studied studio art with a concentration in painting at UNC. Briggs joined the U.S. National team in 2010. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed for the United States women's national field hockey team in the women's event. Briggs helped Team USA defeat Argentina to win its first Pan American gold medal and earn a berth in the 2012 Olympics in London. Briggs was a member of the gold medal Champions Challenge squad and a part of the U.S. squad that stunned the world with a fourth place finish at the 2014 Rabobank Hockey World Cup. Briggs recently competed in the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics. Briggs is currently the assistant field hockey coach at Wake Forest University.

George Michael Frenn was an American hammer thrower, weight thrower and powerlifter. Frenn set world bests in the outdoor and indoor weight throws, won two medals in the Pan American Games and competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics.
Johanna Freda Gertrude Wilhelmsen was an American track and field athlete and softball player. She represented the United States at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, placing seventh in the women's javelin throw and eighth in the discus throw.
Roxanne "Roxy" Andersen was a Canadian track and field athlete. She won a gold medal at the 1934 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships and a silver medal at the 1936 US Indoor Championships. Apart from competing in athletics, Andersen was the Pacific chair of the Amateur Athletic Union from 1950 to 1976. In 1991, Andersen was inducted into the National Track and Field Hall of Fame.
Roxanne Trunnell is an American Paralympic equestrian. She won a three medals at the 2020 Summer Paralympics including a gold medal at 2020 Summer Paralympics in the individual championship test grade I and individual freestyle test grade I events and a bronze medal in the team open event.
