Rutronik Racing also known as HCB-Rutronik Racing is a German racing team from Remchingen. The team mainly competes in the GT World Challenge. The team was originally founded by Hans-Christoph Behler as HCB Management Gmbh, but was renamed following sponsorship from electronic components distrubutor Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH [1]

History

Founded in 2010, the team competed in the FIA GT World Cup in 2018 as Audi Sport Team Rutronik. In 2019, the team entered the ADAC GT Masters. The team was a customer sport team from Audi Sport Customer Racing and used 10 Audi GT3 cars in two championships. [2]

The racing team won the driver and team classification in its debut season in 2019.

Rutronik Racing will field two Porsche 911 GT3 R in 2024.

After winning multiple titles in various GT championships, WRT is considered to be one of the best teams worldwide in GT racing. In 2019 and 2020 WRT ran two Audi RS5 Turbo DTMs in the highly competitive DTM championship. In 2021 WRT added a full time LMP2 program, by entering an Oreca 07 in both the FIA World Endurance Championship and European Le Mans Series, and won the LMP2 class of the 2021 24 Hours of Le Mans. From 2023 on WRT switched their partnership in GT racing from Audi to BMW and will run the BMW M4 GT3. The team will also run two factory backed BMW M Hybrid V8s in the FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar category from 2024.

The 2024 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup is the twelfth season of the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup following on from the demise of the SRO Motorsports Group's FIA GT1 World Championship, the fourth with the sponsorship of Fanatec.
